    He had a very good amateur career.
    In 1989, he won gold at the Junior World Championships.
    In 1992, he won gold at the Olympics.
    Also in 1993, he won silver at the World Amateur Championships.

    4 time world champion in 2 weight classes.

    Major Titles:

    WBA Super Featherweight (130 lbs)
    The Ring & WBC Lightweight (135 lbs)
    WBO Lightweight (135 lbs)

    Notable wins: Diego Corrales 2x, Michael Katsidis, Nate Campbell, & Robert Garcia.

    Draw: vs. Almazbek Raiymkulov

    Notable Losses: Acelino Freitas, Diego Corrales, Jose Luis Castillo, Juan Manuel Marquez, Robert Guerrero & Tim Bradley.

    His AM record, Medal + his World championships.
    He should get in first ballot style.

    his last fight was marquez- he was already shot but competitive until got KO for the first time on his career.Guerrero and bradley should have never happened.
    losses against freitas,castillo and corrales very controversial. He got a gift against Santa cruz

    Casamayor a better HOF candidate than JC Castillo IMO.

    I don't understand this obsession with the hall of fame, I don't really know what it is or why it's considered important by some, to be honest. True boxing fans understand Casamayor's record and capabilities. The Freitas/Castillo/Corrales/Casamayor era was awesome.

    HoF off Ams alone, then the pro success is the icing on the cake.

    The first four rounds of the fight against Marquez was the most beautiful and technically brilliant display of counter punching in boxing history. The number of losses on his record is quite deceptive, but most people realise he was a top, top fighter in his day.
