Fine, mate. Really looking forward to a drink. In a glass. In a pub. With a packet of Snyders Jalapeno pretzels. Looking at someone other than Mrs Ezzard or Eddie Jnr. But until then, I'll do, thank you.

I remember back in the day on Tuesday Night Fights or either ESPN’s Top Rank boxing one year they had a card that fell on St. Patrick’s Day and had all the fighters either wear green with white stripe trunks or white with green stripe and introduced every single fighter as “Irish _____” (fill in the name).

Pretty sure they had a couple of actual Irish-American fighters on the card but on that night, everyone was Irish.

It was pretty hilarious and loads of fun.

If we're including Irish-Americans, Muhammad Ali deserves a mention.

A cat born in a dog house is still a cat. The Irish born in America count all the same as the Irish born in Ireland, unless we are strictly speaking about nationality. In that regard, the Irish are one of the most prominent contributors in boxing history. Bob Fitzsimmons (Irish father; Cornish mother), Mickey Walker, Jimmy McLarnin, both Jack Dempseys, Gene Tunney, Tommy Loughran, Mike and Tommy Gibbons, Packey McFarland, Jimmy Barry, Terry McGovern, James J. Corbett, Jimmy Britt, Mike O'Dowd, and many others highlight this.

I believe there’s evidence that Barbados Boston Tom McMustache — the one who fought out of Toledo — was born in County Cork.

I think this thread has forgot the Classic Boxing original: Tom McMustache.

Perhaps his 'Boston' Moniker fooled some...
