He called Amir Khan out and bad mouthed him for a long, long time, yet turned down offers to fight Khan twice (one when Khan fought Kotelnik). But after turning Khan down twice, after Murray's amazing win over Jon Thaxton (ten years past his best), Joe Gallagher said Khan ''can run but can't hide''! Next, Murray is in boxing monthly complaining that he is in debt and has considered retirement because he can't get a big name. But, when Ortiz offers to fight him his trainer says ''why should he''? I don't blame him for not wanting to fight Khan or Ortiz. They would both take him out in couple of rounds but he should cut out the complaining and trash talking if he isn't prepared to fight.
I don't think he's a coward (Just yet). I expect him to make one more defence of his title and then challenge for a world title. If he doesn't, I'll be the first to criticise.
No wonder he is in debt..... Promoters Deductions..... Full English Double cheeseburger & chips 14 pints of Guinness 2 bottles of red wine Doner meat pizza
bit rich calling him a coward. We dont know the details of the khan offers. Oritz is in a different weight and doesnt have a title. Murray needs a name but can hennesy get him one? i think most of us agree that murray wont make it at world level. he deserves a pay day!
maybe he could get a biggish payday for fighting Andy Murray or kevin mitchell. one more decent win should net him a title shot.
It's easy to call the man a coward, but sometimes these things just don't work out. I reckon he would step in at any time of asking.
I have to agree with Bad Dog. He has turned down fights with... KATSIDIS KHAN ORTIZ At the same time he is calling Khan out. This is similar to Groves and Haye calling fighters out but losing their arses when their bluff gets called.
im sure it khan who avoided murrey bk in the days and WHO EXACTLEY OFFERED MURREY THE ORTIZ FIGHT OTHER THAN KHAN
