Lets just say this; it took a LONG time for Ali to get the respect he has now.

Bird lose to Oquendo Ruiz KO Oquendo in a super boring fight.

I'd say Byrd was the best. 2nd best? Ruiz.

It's ridiculous. There are too many boxrec warriors who look at the record and say, oh, he's got some good names there, but know little or nothing about what went on in those fights - i.e. absurd degrees of excessive holding in most of 'em and playacting to get low blow callls in several.

And then there's the gift decision against Golota - where Golota landed more punches, scored two KDs and Ruiz lost another point for some of his shenanigans, and yet still somehow "won" the fight!!! :patsch

Like I said, without King, nobody would ever have heard of this guy other than his getting laid out in 19 seconds by Tua. Without King, Ruiz would have been lucky to win a regional belt, let alone a paper title.

A lot of Haye fans are trying to build this palooka up so they can crow about the "impressive" victory afterward!!:yep

the strange thing, with Ruiz so far resume and if he beat up Haye
he may knock to the door of top 20 ATG HW :D

    Following Zakman's logic towards Lewis:

    Holyfield is no ATG.
ATG's dont lose to ham and eggers like Ruiz.

The fact he has held the title and he is still fighting for it right now says it all.

His fight against the great one RJJ was embarassing for him.

RJJ should have retired then,...Said that too many times though!
