Is Jon Jones trying hard to copy Anderson?

    Just looking at this fight tonight i saw him attempt so many Silva moves it was ridiculous!! :lol: , front kick the face (like Silva did to Vitor), low front kick to the knee (like Silva was doing to Leites), trying to put his hands down in round three (we all know that's Silva's trademark) and he was even trying to switch stances like the great man too!!,

    Obviously he's entitled to do what he wants in the ring, especially if he keeps winning but there's only ever gonna be ONE Anderson Silva, a true master has his own style, he doesn't try to clone himself into someone else, Jones has said countless times that he studies Anderson, and that's cool but he shouldn't forget to be himself too, Andre Ward studies Mayweather but Ward still has his own way of doing things which is why i got respect for the kid,

    In closing i'm not trying to diss Jon, i think he's a great talent but it did make me laugh seeing him do those things tonight, i guess we'll have to wait and see how far it takes him.

    Oh come off it!!.. i already said Jones has admitted that he studies Anderson, so my argument is a valid one!! :roll: .

    Erm i mentioned a number of things he tried, the front kick was just ONE of them and why wasn't he doing it BEFORE Anderson did? hhhmmm i wonder?!! :roll: .

    He (wisely) uses moves that play to his talents and physical gifts - long legs, good co-ordination and balance, and natural athleticism.

    Silva uses the same moves for the same reason.

    On the feet Ando would destroy Jones, that's prety much obvious, on the ground Jones would be a problem no doubt but Silva's bjj skills are light years ahead of Jones's aswell so a submission would not be out of the question, i actually think Silva would beat him because Jones's would be way more cautious than he usually is and that would play into Silva's hands.

    Um. I'm not a doctor so I don't know what exactly it is that is wrong with you. But whatever it is, you've got a bad dose of it.

    JJ is alot younger than Silva so that might explain why AS has done a lot of moves before him. And of all the guys to accuse of 'stealing' pre existing strikes/techniques that are actually 100's of years old you choose to pick probably the most inventive and innovative guy out there.

    Anyway, wasn't Anderson tought that kick by Stevan Segal?

    This threads sucks anus. Anderson Silva didn't invent using kicks in MMA, nor does he own the patent on them. Jones has always used kicks, knees, elbows, etc. Jones also uses throws and top control in a way that couldn't be more different from Anderson. I think you should go and "diss" Anderson for learning a kick from Steven Seagal, because this thread makes no sense. Even if Jones does base his style on Silva, which he doesn't, but even if he did, who gives a ****? His own effectiveness inside the Octagon is the only thing that matters.
