Is Jon Jones trying hard to copy Anderson?

Why?

I'm not saying Jones definitely beats Anderson on the feet, not at all, but I don't understand what you have seen that makes this "obvious"?

Jones has 7-8 inches of reach on Anderson, and is naturally bigger and heavier. Jones has so far proven to be extremely hard to hit and extremely effective on his feet, no-one has really been able to test him.

Anderson got hit cleanly more by Chael Sonnen standing up than I've seen Jones hit in any fight.

As I say, I'm not saying Jones beats Anderson standing up, but what I have done is list reasons why I do not think it is "obvious" that Anderson destroys Jones there, so can you explain what you have seen that makes you think it is "obvious"? :think

Jones landed almost everything he threw on Rampage , and with effect too , not for show , Rampage was absolutley bamboozled , Anderson Silva will go down as one of the most effective strikers the game has seen , who wouldnt you want to be that guy ??

Jones and Silva have almost identical physical dimensions when pitted against there peers in ther respective weight divisions , both of them have every right to stay long and use there length , which is exactly what they do , Jones is a kid , Anderson has had the last 12 - 15 years to refine his striking and fight his peak , Jones even at this young age is already being compared to Silva , that in itself is pretty huge

 

Again agreed, Jones is so unpredictable/dynmic with his strikes 3 years ago. His pure striking isnt up to par yet but he is more varied than Silva.

I'm not even going to mention his wrestling and top game (knees, elbows, chokes) that would make it a mismatch.

Machida is the only one at LHW that could make in interesting because theres an outside chance he can outpoint Jones. Mind you Jones would be a huge favorite.

 

You got to put age into it also as Silva wasa 36 when he fought Chael and Jones is only 24 give him 10 years and im sure someone will land cleanly by then

 

I have JJ as a massive favourite if the AS fight ever happens. AS absoulely manhandled on the floor by a ****ing huge LHW. He looks so boiled down to make LHW as it is. Man against boy. GSP is coming up in weight against AS but he has the better grappling. AS V JJ is a mismatch imo.

 

Not just the age but simple Biology. Jones has inborn physiological advantages. People need to understand this, yes it is unfair.

His lenght enables him to hit you when hes 10 feet away. I mean did you see his kicks to Rampages body? Rampage has no shot countering. Add to it that when you get close, he has the best clinch Ive seen in a while.

I forgot to add that hes quick as a cat that when you think you have a chance to hit him, hes behind you. Only time Rampage had a shot was though leg kicks and even Rampgae said to Rogan, then that makes you prone to the takedowns.

Look, Jones is not unbeatable but no one at LHW is even close to dethroning him.

 

I really dont see Jones losing at LHW with the current crop of contenders. When he moves up to HW, which he will need to eventually, I see him having more trouble as he wont have the luxury of these large physical advantages.
