Jones was being a copycat to some extent on the weekend.

That said, he is too big and strong for Silva in a H2H match.

I'm not certain why the thread starter is getting so much flak.

In boxing, we hear all the time that Tyson emulated Dempsey's style or how Holmes was a "poor man's Muhammad Ali". Boxers use the same basic techniques, but each fighter's style still has a distinct fingerprint. In MMA, "copying" another fighter should be even more noticeable, since fighters often use very different skillsets.

If this was a boxing forum and somebody said "Tyson tried to fight like Dempsey", you wouldn't see people object that every boxer uses jabs, hooks, etc., because the way that the fighter blends his techniques that makes a style. If Jones blends his techniques like Silva does, then maybe he is trying to emulate him.

He's not copying though is he, he's just using his natural advantages as well as he can. It just so happens his natural advantages when it comes to striking are similar to Andersons, to say he's copying Anderson isn't really correct, especially since Jones is only so effective on the feet due to his wrestling credentials and power. Anderson is just a technically gifted beast on the feet.

I dunno. Successful fighters with certain gifts often study other fighters with similar gifts and take elements of their style deliberately. That way, they don't need to reinvent the wheel. And the TS mentioned that Jones is doing just that.

On the other hand, the TS does imply that Jones is doing it arbitrarily rather than for a good reason, so I can see where you're coming from.

Jones has said he wants to be Silva on his feet and GSP on the ground.

he isn't copying em. They use a lot of the same moves because of their skill set and their bodys' build. If you could copy somebody as great as silva its because ur a good fighter not because you wanted to copy em :patsch

Is he trying to copy Anderson? Well, yes he is. He has said as much.
Is he trying hard to copy him as evidenced by the OPs list of moves used against Rampage? No.
Front kick to the face? Anderson used it to KO Vitor. Machida used it on Randy. Forrest used it against Tito. JDS used it on Nelson. They are specific examples I can think of off the top of my head. There are literally dozens, if not hundreds of others.
Low front kick to the knee? It's a pretty standard move in most martial arts involving kicking. I'm actually surprised it's not used more often. It's very safe to throw and very effective at gauging/keeping distance.
Putting his hands down? Most fighters do this at some point. Goldberg even pointed out Nate Diaz doing it against Gomi that very night.
Switching stances? This is incredibly common in MMA.

Jones has specifcally stated that he studies and tries to imitate Silva, so yeah, he's copying him to some extent, but as others have said, this is just how people develop in combat sports.
