Well, this is where Joe's mouth and autobiography would come back to bite him big time.

He pretty much made it clear HE believes RJJ is a shot fighter. So, if he loses to him at this point, Joe takes a major nose dive and will need one more good fight to pull his resume out of the toilet. Kessler hasn't been much help in that regards as of late. I suppose we can all just pretend Joe 'ruined him'.

But, I guess it is how you define legend. While their fans may well believe this to be true, it is up to future boxing fans to make this call. Will THEY be talking about these guys in the future and calling up the 'epic battles' they fought?

If you are hoping for "future fans" to not declare Calzaghe a legend you might be in for a rude awakening. People seem to get more and more highly rated as time passes, especially undefeated fighters. Look at Marciano, he fought some garbage in a weak era amongst some decent wins and he's a top 3 great heavy for some.

No. The missing ingredient is A LEGEND. But I guess that also depends on how loosely you define legend.

Not a hope or expectation on my part. I think fans calling current fighters legend are premature. Legends 'grow' after the fact.
