Joshua fought past prime Klitschko who was in his 40s and 1.5 year ring rust. You could see Klitschkos timing and reflexes were suffered, but he still managed to drop and almost KTFO Joshua. Now if he fights young undefeated 26 year old Joseph Parker. Do you think its going to be stepup for Joshua?
Old Klitschko was still likely a bit better than Parker. Compared to everyone else on his record yes it is a huge step up and a fight Joshua could lose.
no the version of klitchko that joshua fought brought more to the table against joshuas style than this version of parker brings. wlad plus points over parker wlad had more movement than parker will bring his feet ere faster than parker will bring he brought more 1 punch power to the table he had a better jab than parker will bring huge experience differential parker is way better inside than wlad who has no inside game parker has faster hands than wlad especially on the inside parker most probably has a better chin than wlad parker has never lost as a pro that gives him winning mentality they are completely different styles of fighters so you are not comparing like for like but IMO joshuas style matches up better to parkers than it did to wlad joshua only beat wlad in the end by hrowing his boxing out of the window trying to match up with wlad and actually walking through him to land his own power punches which got the jon done. IMO i dont think parker can outbox joshua from the outside and is going to have to take more chances than wlad did to get his shots home on joshua i still give parker a 30% chchance of beating joshua just think wlad style posed more challenges to joshua than parkers style.
Only in terms of being a young unbeaten gun. Maybe slightly better than Takam, but inferior to WK who should have knocked out Joshua.
Parker is not a step up from Wlad or even Takam. But neither is Parker a push over. Main concern for AJ should be his stamina as Parker looks rock solid chin wise and also seems to have a good engine so could cause problem with his fast hands in mid to late rounds. AJ needs to lose 15pounds of muscle - just don't understand why his trainer hasn't mandated that.
I give Joshua credit for taking this fight as it shows he's confident and serious about being the top guy in the heavyweight division. Parker may not be a step up from a 41-year-old Wlad, but he's a step up from some of the fringe contender types Joshua gave titles shots too.
Yep this pretty much sums it up nicely for me. Parker will be competitive but he won't push him like Wlad did. If Joshua beats Parker I'd rate this as Joshua's 2nd best win after Wlad.
No. Wlad fought as well as he could have on the night and would have beaten many current HWs on that night. Parker is also stylistically tailor made for AJ.
I would say Parker is far less likely to rock AJ than Klit was, although Whyte also did so there is still a chance. What I will say is if Parker has Joshua in trouble at any stage he has the chin and youth to completely unleash, which Klit at 41 lacked.
As said by a few guys,Parker is the 2nd best that AJ will have stepped in the ring with.I hope AJ going to loose some muscle for this one, because Parker will be looking to take AJ into the second half of the fight, then up the tempo.I still favour AJ,but it's not a given by any means.
