Parker has a solid chin and plenty of stamina. He will likely test Joshua's chin and and stamina. Two things he isn't renowned for.
Parker is another champion, young, fresh and very hungry so I believe it is a step up and a very dangerous fight for Joshua. I rate Parker, I believe Joshua wins but I don't think Joshua is a certainty whatsoever.
Some good points there and I agree with most of what you're saying. Parker has reiterated lately that he's wanted this fight for 2 years now. Both fighters have carefully analysed each others boxing and found each others conventional robotic style as something they would be more 'comfortable' with for a lack of a better word but you get what I mean. It's not like they're having to adjust to fighting a style like a fleeted footed Hughie Fury or a 'bombs from everywhere' Tyson Fury. Apart from Joshuas KO power my other concern for my man Parker is his lack of development compared to Joshuas. I'm not sure if Joe is content on what he has and his team may feel that he has all he needs and of course they will say they're adding things but I haven't seen much difference from Joe other than some slight head movements in the Hughie fight. Apart from AJs battle with Takam, Joshua keeps showing me something new. I hope Team Parker have updated their blueprints to beating AJ because they need to realise that Joshua has improved since the Joshua they wanted 2 years ago. Julian Jackson was one of my favourite boxers and although people heard of McClellan, no-one could see the Hawk losing building up to that fight. All the deserved hype was on Jackson. AJ reminds me of Jackson and McClellan reminds me of Parker
IMO the Parker we saw against Takham or Hugie Fury is a step below old, 40 year old Wlad Klitschko. What would 40 year old Wlad have done with Hugie and Takham? IMO he'd have beaten them much more lopsided than Parker. I will change my mind when I see the evidence, old Wlad just looked more determined and capable at advanced age than a prime Parker has done in the past.
No he’s not a step up from Wlad, just ask yourself what Wlad would of done with Hugie Fury,Ruiz ect add to that Parker doesn’t have the power that Wlad had
This. Parker is definitely the 2nd best opponent that Joshua will have faced. Wlad's timing was off and his stamina wasn't what it used to be, but he was able to exploit a lot of weaknesses in Joshua's game due to his experience. While Parker is a wet behind the ears rookie compared to Wlad he does have a good chin, good stamina, and youth. Also, if Joshua foolishly comes at 250+ and gasses Parker may be able to get the stoppage.
Klitchko far more accomplished fighter than parker. But beating Joshua,s never been about how good you are for me its a style that beats him. You might find a guy that isn,t top 3 beats him and yet he can beat the top 3. Fancied parker big time a few years back...but he,s regressed since then. But its still winnable. Great chin. Durable. Fast hands. Not far off from being the magic formula. His lengths a worry tho. But you don't need to punch Joshua all night for it to take its toll. All you need is that one shot to kick it off. The one thing parkers got going for him is he,al go forward. The way to beat Joshua for me is to push him back. So far we,he had a lot of guys going in looking for that one punch on the counter. The problem is Joshua's almost to big to counter. He throws then its hard to get off with the sheer size of his arms at the same time his punch even if it just hits arms does enough for them not to be able to counter. Be interesting to see parker try to push him back. Klitchko and whyte both had success with it. Takam to an extent as the fight went on.
IMO the styles will gell well and it will be a good fight the big factor to a parker win will be if parker can get used to joshuas power and then ride the shots when they land. he needs to be able to do this to get in close and let his very fast combos go these are hard to block because they are so fast i have seen parker use his legs once in a low key fight v his old sparring partner slavic fighter cannot remember his name without looking it up 2 fights ago obviously boxing to what he was practising in the gym where he would take a walk / engage and take a walk. in that fight it was the wrong tactics v joshua it will be the right tactics to frustrate him and make him reset his feet and angles. he needs to move his feet in this fight / he cannot stand in front of joshua as he does not move his feet quick / wlad was on his toes /takam has good upperbody movement parker is more like joshua / more flatfooted he needs to suck it up 3 v 7 /when i expect joshua to be dominant / make joshua respect his abilty and power by landing some left hooks and then press joshua down the strecth as best he can and hope joshua has used up to much energy early on. IMO joshua is technically better / his size and length and handspeed is going to make it hard for parker to compete on the outside and to win parker is going to have to bitedown on his shield/ plant his feet and let rip on the inside . joshua likes to fire back when he is being unloaded on / these are times fighters get ko`d/ the punch`s parker landed on takam in round 8 would IMO get joshua going and thats why i give him a 30% chance. but equally in the exact same round v takam he had no defense and takam was able to land power shots flush and parkers defense was not to get in close and grab but to back up on rails his hands low not in the correct position to defend. but of course both trainers will have seen this and will work on it joshua has more choices in this fight for me box behind a jab / be patient / wait for parker to come in and make mistakes . when inside joshia is not as fast as parker / but he is a very correct and precise fighter on the inside if joshua boxes as he did v brezeale / which IMO is the gameplan they will adopt v parker then it will be for parker to break his rythem because boxing that way joshua will expend no energy . this will be a fight where will to win will count for a lot / parker is going to have to risk getting ktfo in order to impose his will and gameplan on joshua .
we will find out. it is unknown. wlad was old . already lost to fury and looked bad vs jennings. i believe it could be a step up. im not sold on the older version wlad. his last 3 fights suggest that imo
Parker has looked terrible (in comparison) recently. I don't know why, as he showed so much promise before, maybe it's his training regime or weight. On form you have to pick AJ.
