A 41 year old Vlad, who had been out of the ring for two years almost knocked Joshua and would have if it hadn't been for Vitali telling not to finish Joshua, he let Joshua off the hook. Vitali said it was his fault...............in a rematch I would have put my money on Vlad, his timing would have come back...............Vlad was, even in his old age, still better than Parker, but if Parker has the chin I am hearing about, it will be a long night for Joshua, not so easy, could be a very good fight, closer than anyone thinks...................Parker really needs a new trainer and better sparring partners, but he is better than we think he is....................don't know if he will win, but I give him a chance. He will be cheated by Joshua's personal referee, judges and boxing commission, the UK referee will stop the fight as soon as Parker is hit with a jab!
What people fail to realise is that Parker isn't a one trick pony. He has far more dimensions to his game than Wlad even though Wlad is one thousand times superior in the 2 - 3 things he does well which is utlising the jab, footwork and deceptive speed and power. Where Parker will pose a multitude of different problems for AJ. Joshua never had to worry about deadly body shots against Wlad, he never had to worry about fast combinations coming from all angles and never had to worry about finding the target with Wlad. Parker is more nimble, more in your face and relentless in attack than Wladimir. Joshua was afforded breaks in between rounds against the older rustier inactive version of Wlad. He will not be given such luxury against Parker who will be all over him from round 1, like an African virus.
If Joshua doesn't lose that unnecessary weight then that will cause his first loss imo. He'll gas and get stopped against somebody who can take his punches and has decent finishing ability. I don't think Parker is the one to do that, however.
I dont get it. Its a unification fight and one of the biggest that can be made. Asking if its a "step up or not" seems to be an unfair parameter. Its a logical step in the right direction. I look at the priority of Joshua's possible opponents as Level 1: Unification Parker & Wilder Level 2: Dangerous Contenders Ortiz & Povetkin Level 3: Acceptable Charr, Hughie, Pulev, Ruiz jr, Ustinov, Miller..etc. Would be great but not realistic at moment: Wlad 2, Tyson Fury, Usyk.
No, hell no. Joshua's step up was Klitschko. Takam was slightly below Klitschko. Parker's fight with Takam will show you everything you need to know about Parker's chances in their upcoming fight. Parker couldn't hurt Takam with his crazy output, I always have considered Parker as a guy who needs throw 20 punches to hurt somebody. And if that Takam fight is not enough than you can watch Parker's amateur fight with Heredia and Abuldakir Abdullaev where he was pressured heavy and didn't know how to respond. Parker is comfortable only when he can land his punches at will but he is very uncomfortable if someone starts landing big amount of heavy punches on him.
I dont think Parker is a step up for Joshua. I think Wlad was a greater opponent and not sure if Parker is above Whyte, Martin or Breazeale.
ward, Floyd, horn, Joshua... I was going to ask you who else is corrupt and has half the boxing officials in their pocket, but it may be easier to ask you who HASN'T got boxing officials in their pocket?
No. It will be a far easier fight than Klitchko, Whyte, and Takam. It will be easier BC he did not have a full training camp to SPECIFICALLY prepare for the harder to hit Takam and for Whyte he really was seeing what works and doesn't. Klitchko is obviously better than parker and now Parker is dealing with what should be the best Joshua. This isn't remotely going to bring trouble for Joshua. Style wise Parker should be his easiest fight right now. I don't even think parker will win 1 round and if he does it will probably go 12 which it really shouldn't. Is this a step up from the level he THEN was fighting besides Klitchko? Yes but Joshua NOW doesn't let this make a more difficult fight for him NOW.....he's too good. People may not want to hear this but fighting Klitchko with 18 fights in doesn't get more dangerous than that. Its going to be AWHILE before any fighter makes Joshua step it up beyond that.@ facts.
Parker us a paper champion bum he lost to Ruiz struggled past Takham had his power mocked by Cojanu the dancing clown and shade a stinker against spotty Fury , he has no power at a higher level his speed is only ok and his chin us a myth because he's never been in with a puncher , after AJ has destroyed him he'll be shown up for what he is against the likes of Chisora and Whyte, he'll be fighting Pricey in Brentwood by 2020
Lets wait & see if & when they fight. All I hope is that Parker gets a fair crack of the whip, its a good fight & the legitimate best man on the night rightfully gets the win, Sadly I wonr be holding my breath
