Is Josh Taylor the real deal after exposing hype job OD? How do you think he does at world level?

Josh taylor seems to have world class talent and technique with good ring smarts. He's very complete looking. He's only a few fights away from world level. He beats Nurse, Catterall, Robbie Daves, Daws and all the other UK domestic lot easily. Every one of them gets outclassed and knocked out.

Taylor also looks to have a very good chin. As he ate a mean uppercut like it wasn't ****. OD might be limited but he has heavy hands and nothing he managed to land had any real effect on JT. Impressive.

The lot on here who picked OD to beat Taylor easily even calling him more talented should be given a permanent ban for not understanding what they're looking at when watching boxing. The OD media brainwashing programmed a virus in their brains which gave them some kind of mental distortion when assessing skillsets. It was clear even watching the public work out pad sessions that Josh was the superior. People actually commented saying how great OD looked when he actually looked slow and clumsy compared to the well balanced and sharper Taylor. Astounding stuff to read. It's amazing how the hype machine can change the sheeple's perception of reality.

Luckily I'm one of the woken who can't be hypnotised by the media hype machine.

Anyway, How does Taylor do against -

    Burns
    Postol
    Indongo
    Arozco

    Troyanovsky
    Dias
    Granados
    Lipinets
    Prograis

Crawford is way too good for him just now but the rest are winnable, fo real.

I think they'll look at Burns as a next fight. Burns is done, Taylor beats him comfortably now. The others are a bit closer at this stage. Troyanovsky would be an interesting one. He can be outboxed but he has legitimate power

I made a post on this after the fight on the weekend

    https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/josh-taylor-is-the-guy-to-beat-crawford-at-140.590127/

Beats them all, Crawford is a level above at the moment but Taylor has the style to beat Crawford if he is developed right.

Has the mythical sort-after combination of both speed + power. High ring-IQ, movement, defence and most importantly has a chin. The guy is also a massive LWW and would be bigger than a lot of the 147'ers. What impressed me most vs OD is that he showed an inside game that I previously didn't think he had, and a durability that a lot of these speedsters lack. He would have to be more active and utilise the jab more if he is going to beat the top 3 division guys.

Crawford and Spence have to be the future targets for Taylor, I'm not saying he is close to ready for them, but developed properly he's that good.

I know @CST80 is high on Taylor too.

So the guy he beat sucks, but it makes him the real deal to beat him? Let's see him fight somebody half decent first. Prospects don't wash out until they face some adversity. I like his style though. Very pretty.

Sorry I missed your thread. I'll have a look after I write this comment.

I wrote a prediction on another forum as to how Taylor should fight OD and it's prety much exactly what happened stylistically except I had predicted the ko in the 8th. I knew Taylor was the superior inside as he is sharper and shortens his punches up superbly and sneakily. He rolls well and creates angles. I always knew it would be safer and more effective to go toe to toe with OD inside his effective range. As predicted he also boxed and moved well on the outside when needed. Because of OD's long arms and awkward punching angles the danger area was always going to be mid to long range so good head and foot movement was vital. It was strange to me that some fans thought Taylor needed to only box at range and not get inside on OD. OD looks lost up close and struggles to shorten up his punches. He looks terrible throwing up close.

Taylors definitely not the finished article. I reckon he's good enough to be competitive with Crawford but he's not at the level yet to actually beat him.

He was definitely not as good as the hype suggested he was. I can forgive the twitter matchroom casuals for getting this wrong because they don't have a lot of brain cells but for so many good posters on boxing forums to get it wrong truly baffled me.

Davies isn't ****, he just isn't world class in ability or heart.

The Burns fight is huge but I don't want to see it. I'm a big fan of Burns but he's past it now and would be on the receiving end of a nasty beating by a huge lightwelter. Even though Burns is as tough as nails and has a huge heart I think Taylor might be the first to stop him. Troyanovsky is dangerous but I'm impressed with Taylor Durability so far. I know OD was hype and the comparing of his power to Benn and Jackson was hilarious but he certainly has heavy hands. Talk of him breaking the jaws of bigger men in sparring. Think Connor Benn was one of them.

Yeah I totally agree with you. OD's limitations are technique related, certainly not athletic or power.

I like that he's versatile. Orthodox and conventional. He just has to keep getting better.

I never said OD sucks. My point is he was exposed as not being as good as the sheeple thought he was. Some fans genuinely believed him to be a future elite level super star. He's a strong awkward fighter with heavy hands so he's a dangerous guy to fight if you go in with the wrong game plan.

You have a sour attitude. Davies lost to a good opponent some ones 0 had to go. Both could be world title challengers in the future
