In name value yes, but where he was in his career at that point - Commentating and chilling on the couch, then absolutely not.
That's likely a factor, his style relies on him being the bigger man and that wouldn't be the case at 147lbs. I think Spence would be a horrible matchup for him, he'd beat Taylor at his own game on the inside, Spence takes him apart.
This is nonsense. Porter looked good in the fight he just got knocked out so people made this excuse up afterwards
The thing is, Taylor likes a scrap. His last fight he mostly abandoned boxing with a jab and escaped with a decision most saw should have gone the other way.
Why is he not a run away favourite, after being out for over a year and arguably coming off a loss to Catterall against a guy who was previously the lightweight undisputed champion and more convincingly beat Lomachenko than Haney?
I think people forget that Taylor does not have a padded record like some other boxers. Taylor beats Lopez for me in this fight.
I feel like you really underestimate Taylor's boxing skills. I didn't see Taylor rely on his size when he beat Jose Ramirez, he outboxed him at range. He could very well use that same tactic against Teo and beat him by boxing skills alone.
Hes in great shape for the task at hand, lets see how he handles Lopez in the ring. If he he gets drawn into a firefight and gets careless Teo will clip him.
