A solid defence? I'm sure I see him fight before but cannot remember, I want to see a good fight here. Taylor is the best 140lber does he wipe this guy out fast or his it a good run out for the Tartan Tornado.

Ps. Is he the biggest fighter from Thailand?

He's an excellent puncher. Definitely the biggest in the division and possibly top five in the entire sport. Long dong Khongsong lands with that 1-2 or an uppercut and anyone right now is going sleep.

It's a very good defence IMO.

Kaoklai Kaennorsing has to be up there. Although his stint in boxing was a weak one. Great Muay Thai fighter and Kickboxer though.

Taylor should have too much class for him but he definitely looks like a very dangerous customer and a potential banana skin. His punches sound heavier than Dan Rafael after he's just polished off his meal at an all you can eat buffet

Top five is getting a little overboard. However it's still a very intruiguing fight.

He definitely looks like he hits hard. Can see Taylor getting busted up or wobbled at some point against this guy but still winning comfortably on the cards

I like talk box with Educated fellows. Is the opponent quick or good in the inside? Taylor has all the tricks in the book and very adaptable, been a heavy hitter isnt a threat to Taylor but being a crisp heavy hitter is.

You know I love Josh Taylor, but I've been high on Apinun since I did some research on him and picked him for the upset against Kondo. But quite frankly, I've been teeter tottering on going with the upset here. Like @Serge said, this could prove to be a banana peel. He hits like a ball peen hammer, the fast whipping left hook, his vicious thudding straight right and his absolutely debilitating uppercut are all potential weapons he can utilize. If Josh holds too much, Apinun might sneak that uppercut in, and that could be devastating, he has excellent torque and speed on it, and it's powerful even if fired off at close range. The best weapon against a southpaw, is the straight right down the middle, and Apinun's straight right is really straight, and his arms are really long, so he can reach the intended target, and Josh isn't all that hard to find. And I keep seeing him cracking Josh in the ribs with that pulverizing left hook of hi, and we know Josh isn't fond of it to the body. The only reason I'm hesitating is because Apinun has never gone deep into a match, and we don't know how good his stamina is, and we don't know how good his chin is, but the gamble is, will Josh walk onto something big and not make it to the end of the match?

i always respect your knowledge mate, but you got to remember the levels they have fought at *and can be prone to hype big punchers. Prograis was knocking most people out aswell, and hes a rapier puncher. this thai isnt as skillful as postol is he?

I'm a bit worried about his one. That power of his looks nasty and from the brief bit of footage of him I've seen he looks big for the weight and like he has a mean streak. Taylor does of course too though and we've seen him taking big shots from proven punchers before whereas Khongsong's chin is an unknown commodity at this level and Taylor can crack and the Thai looks wide open for a big shot himself.

The good thing is from the interviews I've seen both Taylor and his trainer Ben Davison are aware he's a dangerous puncher and a potential banana skin so they aren't underestimating him.

Like Taylor has got great hand speed and ability, but looking at that clip probably better leave the show boating low hand stuff at home or this could go sideways

That's why I have a few caveats, where I haven't sold myself on the idea of going with him. FOr all of the reasons you listed. That being said, Kondo went the distance with Lipinets, who brutally KO'd Peterson and had Mikey rocked, Lipinets didn't come close to doing that to Kondo. So I err on the side of Khongsong's power being very legit. And no, he isn't as skilled as Postol, but sometimes styles mean more than skills, and I don't see Khongsong's style as all that easy to deal with.

That's good to hear, I was a bit worried that they might not have done the proper research, but that doesn't give me too much comfort, since he knew Davies and Prograis were big puncher's and he was still more than willing to throw down with them. Taylor is a brilliant boxer, but his tendency to want to go to war all of the time scares me, and it's going to end up biting him in the ass one of these days.

He's fairly economical with his punches. However, when he lands, he tends to be accurate, and land in combination when in range.
