Absolutely not. Clottey is too basic. He doesn't have great power, he's not very active, and he's relatively predictable. .

 

Clottey has never been anything special, seriously. People who thought he was going to be a dangerous opponent for Pacquiao were on some serious drugs.

Called how that fight would go before the ink was dry on the contract. It was THAT obvious.

 

I think Clottey would probably whip Ortiz, but he's not necessarily more of a threat to Mayweather than Ortiz. A style thing... I think against PBF you have to go get him and Clottey just wouldn't do it. Ortiz will at least give it his best shot.

Yea, cause Prime Cotto is such an ATG, especially after his loss to Margarito. He was SO PRIME! And Margarito, bricks or not, is a Bob Arum hype job.

Just be real, Joshua Clottey was always a gatekeeper in the welterweight division. Nothing more and his record proves it.

Before he fought Pacquiao, Clottey's record in his previous 11 fights: 8-2-1 with 1 KO. Yeah, what a beast he was with that 1 KO in 11 fights!

Clottey was a good fighter. Not elite, but very good nonetheless. He dominated Judah , just about beat Cotto , was beating a prime Margarito until he hurt his hand. His loss to Baldo was a fluke (DQ). He's very comparable to Ike Quartey. His problem was always his heart.

As for a potential Floyd mathcup, Ortiz is the tougher fight stylistically. He doesn't have the experience that Clottey has though. Clottey - Floyd would be ridiculously boring.
