Ortiz based more on youth and activity than skills. Clottey is more skilled but lacks activity. Prior to his fight with Pacman, all of Clottey's losses were super close losses against other elite WWs (Margarito, Cotto, Baldomir). The guy just lacks the killer instinct but is very skilled and anyone who claims otherwise haven't watched him fight.

 

Clottey not aggressive enough to win. Physically hes strong, but he wears guys down where Victor has Cotto like power he breaksdown fighters, but at a higher level than Clottey. Would of been a good test for Victor in pacing himself because if hed punch himself out Clottey would of stopped him, but I think Ortiz might be past that. Especially now Clottey has been too inactive to see if hes slowed down.

Ortiz possesses more speed and power as well as a better punch variety. And he's a much better finisher then clotted could dream to be

 

Okay here's the difference, Ortiz was and will always be a greater finisher then clottey and has the power to legitimately hurt Mayweather, clottey also can't lead AT ALL against an elite opponent like mayweather.

I grant that Ortiz is a better finisher than Clottey.

However, what do we really know about Ortiz as a welterweight really? He's had 1 fight at welterweight and Berto has long been suspected of having an iffy chin (and also long been suspected of being a bit of a hype job in spite of his natural gifts) and he edged that decision (didn't finish him all night in spite of hurting him badly in the first round). I don't think Ortiz has any chance of leading at all against Mayweather either. At the end of the day, Ortiz is pretty predictable in his own right and really isn't that great of a boxer himself. Neither are a threat to Mayweather at all.

 

Basically *****s are gonna say Clottey sucked and Ortiz is much better to give Floyd more credit once he outclasses Ortiz. Clottey, before Pac, has given all the fighters he fought a difficult time. Ortiz, before Berto, quit a fight because he didn't feel he deserved the punishment. But of course, *****s are gonna play that off and twist **** like they normally do...carry on *****s.
