Is Joshua Clottey more of a threat to Mayweather than Ortiz?

Let's also keep in mind that these guys Clottey went 50/50 with were badass enough to scare Floyd right out of the sport. He would never have accepted a Clottey fight. I'm still waiting to hear that the Ortiz fight is off because Floyd has a hemorrhoid.

Ortiz - brand new to the division and known to have issues with quitting in a fight - is pretty much the only opponent Floyd has faced since Castillo in 2002 who was at the elite level, not old, coming up in weight and not smaller. That's ****ing disgraceful.

 

Clottey would beat Ortiz, that's not even a question if you know anything about the sport.

Exactly. I don't understand these people saying that crap. Clottey never opened up because Pac was peppering him with power shots...and he felt Manny's power. Floyd isn't gonna be doing that against him. Clottey is gonna be throwing punches against Floyd. I'm not saying he wins, but he won't nearly be as defensive against Floyd as he was against Pac.

 

Clottey was once a top welterweight with great performances vs judah then cotto but since then he's done nothing to suggest he's a threat to anyone and has done even less to suggest he could still compete at the 147 limit.

 

That's one advantage of Clottey, he's a big welter. With his recent long layoff, I'm guessing he'll have difficulties making 147.
