Clottey has a woefully low workrate.

 

Clottey knows when a fighter is more talented than he is and goes into turtle shell mode.

 

This is the way I see it too. I always said Clottey would beat Berto too.

 

Clottey would've made Ortiz look like a sloppy amateur. Despite his low workrate Clottey is big, strong, throws crisp combinations, throws sharp punches with either hand, and has excellent defense.

Much greater threat to Floyd than Ortiz, who IMO has no chance.

 

:rofl As unproven as you say Oritz is, he's still better then Clottey ever was. Edged a decision over Berto?? Other than the rounds he got knocked down in, that was mostly Ortiz beating the **** outta Berto. That was not a close fight, as entertaining as it was, Ortiz almost always had control over the fight.

Ortiz still isn't as slow and mechanical as Clottey is. Ortiz would never shell up in a defense and put the earmufs up like clottey does. Ortiz will certainly have a chance to lead if he actually uses that jab.

Ortiz is a MUCH greater threat due to the fact that Ortiz has greater power then Clottey did, more finishing ability, and better hand speed.

Clottey is much tougher than Ortiz. And if he knows he's better than you, he'll put it on. Ortiz is a B- level fighter who folds when you put a bit of pressure on it. Clottey is a B level, but he better than Ortiz. Anyone who gets outboxed by Peterson wouldn't be able to beat Clottey.

 

I agree with this. But it wouldn't really surprise me to see Ortiz beat Clottey.

 

This could be one of the most boring fights in the history of western civilization if it ever happened lol.
