i already explained the deal with alvarez and margo he hurt his left hand so got hit by bad luck. His left is his only really good hand and he still put up a good effort with one hand. So that at least negates huki's 'heart issues'. and by the way, nobody wanted anything to do with margo at that point and clottey came up to him and showed him who was boss.

Despite losing? As has already been pointed out, did Margo not also injure his hand?

Just for the record, I've got absolutely nothing personal against Clottey. Truth be told, I've got a soft spot for African fighters. I hope he does get his shot at some point.

Clottey vs. Berto while they can both make 147 would be a great fight. I also like him to beat Cintron clearly, and would of course give him a shot in a rematch with Margarito. Williams and Quintana would have very good chances of outworking him. Floyd and Cotto simply outclass him.

A focused Collazo on a good night will be a very live dog.

This is all reasonable. I would bet on Margarito in a rematch though. I think Collazo beats him too.

    That's quite a stretch.

Despite Williams just losing to Quintana, I'd favor him to beat Clottey handily. Clottey isn't much of a pressure fighter, he fights in spurts and that isnt' going to work against Paul who is much taller, longer and busier.

Quintana has the ability to outbox him with his southpaw style and slickness and because Clottey is not as good when he has to lead.

I didn't say he had "heart issues", I just meant he's mentally weak for a top fighter. He has a history of breaking down mentally when fights get tough and he has fouled his opponents intentionally on a number of occasions.

His best option would be do make a fight with Berto. That's a fight he should be favored in and a win would give him a lot of hype.

Clottey doesn't impress me, he doesn't do ANY one thing on an A-level. He's not a great puncher, he's not that quick, he's not a great boxer, he's not a great brawler... he's just B-level acrossed the board.

Underrated? Not a chance. He is what he is.. a decent guy, a gatekeeper type.

He did real well against Chico. Clottey is definitely underrated.

Probably because he's a WW beating a past prime natural SFW.

Corrales was shopworn and finished at that point of his career. Sad, but true.

It's alarming that he couldn't knock a shot Corrales out though. Cotto would have disposed of Corrales early.

I see a lot of people here have not seen much of Clottey.

I have seen 5 of his fights and my assertion is that he is very much a dark horse to make big noise in the next couple of years. I think there is good reason as to why no one wants to fight him. Not sure how anyone could say he is overrated. Ohh wait... that's right, not many that have posted on this thread have seen him much. I take that back then.

As would Mosley, Margarito and probably Floyd at that stage of chico's career.
