I think you are grossly underestimating chico's heart. that man was fighting with a broke jaw and didnt seem like he would have layed down for anyone that night. He knew he had a last shot to prove and that was at welter where the money was. He lost, got beat up, but I dont think he would have quit - EVEN against Cotto. Nor would cotto have kayod him either.
