People are probably viewing the Pac-Clottey showdown as not a great fight, but I think this is because people are underrating Clottey as a boxer. Clottey is a solid all around boxer with great defense, and a physical speciman. He pummelled Zab Judah, and only lost to the best in his division which was against Carlos Baldomir when he was young, Antonio Margarito, and of course the controversial loss (to some viewers) to Miguel Cotto last year.

    ridiculously so

Last year peeps here were calling him an elite fighter, sayin he never had a legitimate loss, the most feared fighter in the sport, and making comparisons to Ike Quartey. But when hes signed to fight Pac, hes a bum, a setup, a C level fighter, Cotto's leftovers, and not a "black" fighter.

I am guessing someone with better movement? Clottey tends to be fairly robust and robotic - a come forward straight ahead type of fighter. It's often mentioned by some on this board that WaPakMan seems to avoid 'black fighters' and given his trouble with Cotto (not a 'black fighter' by any means) when Cotto actually moved it would seem to be that he can't process movement and quick defense as well as you might expect for the supposed pound for pound number one. Floyd would literally bamboozle him which is why, drug testing aside, he currently wants no part of him.

All that said I am pulling for Clottey to win this, I think he has the strength and resolution to do some really damage come Saturday night.

They're all just hating because Clottey is not as good an opponent as Mayweather is. Anyone who follows the sport closely knows Clottey is a damn good fighter. Is he a great fighter? No, not in my opinion... but still not a bad opponent for Pacq

    Two things.

First in the rounds that you mentioned as Cotto fan I was afraid that Cotto is getting killed in the ring. I didn't see Pac having so much problems
And even if he had he was training his last tree matches for an in and out strategy and suddenly found himself as the aggressor and the pressure fighter in the latter rounds.

It's not impossible for Clottey to beat Pac. But for me he will stay a B level fighter even if he does it. An Pac will obviously stay and ATG like it or not :)

Eh, I think it depends on who you ask. Some people overrate him actually. There's a reason why Clottey has never beaten top tier opposition and lost to Cotto, Baldomir, and Margarito. He's good, but he's still yet to prove that he's anything great.. and Pacquiao is most definitely another great opponent.

All his loses are debatable , in fact i had him winning the Margarito fight , and imo he shouldnt be disqualified against Baldomir(in which fight he was ahead on all scorecards).Cotto was close but i thought Miguel pulled it off by winning last 3 rounds.

He's way too passive. Pacquaio can beat most just on work rate alone.

yes, he is severely under rated. People should just watch his fights then they will see that he was the best available opponent for pac. i am actually looking forward to A VERY COMPETETIVE fight COME MARCH 13

He's an elite fighter without doubt. With his durability, had he not had those broken hands, he would have beaten Margacheato.
Problem is, he's facing an ATG who in my view, would have a chance against any of the great WW of the past, excluding maybe Hearns, because of the size difference. Another problem is... the clash of styles is not really favourable to Clottey. If he somehow manages to win this, then really... he'd have jumped to ATG status himself.
