This. Sick of hearing people making excuses for fury, 'its racism' 'the media don't like him so they make everyone hate him'. Fury has not got a likeable personality for the majority of people, simple as that.
I do find it interesting, Fury dethroned the king. So he is most definitely #1 right now. He took the crown from the king so now he's the king. . . Yet, Without a doubt, Anthony Joshua is the talk of the town right now! To be honest, I love it haha! The Heavyweight Division hasn't been this interesting in a long time. Years! I think Luis Ortiz beats them all though right now! Can't wait for his next big fight
Joshua had the home Olympic platform to get him started and then had Sky Sports. Fury doesn't have the full platform of sky sports to hype him up and so lags behind Joshua. If it wasn't for his press conference comments he'd be hardly known.
It doesn't exist in the UK either. Total BS to say otherwise. Nobody really cares about race. Joshua won a gold medal in the SHW division at a home-based Olympics. He's a big, physically impressive specimen who also happens to be a KO artist. He's not made any ***ist, racist or bigoted remarks publicly, unlike Fury and he's also local to London - one of the most populous cities in the World. It doesn't take much investigation to figure out why Joshua is so popular. Fury would also be massively more popular if he was promoted by Hearn instead of Mick Hennessy.
Olympics is the biggest factor in this by far imo. In cycling, for example, Brad Wiggins (multiple olympic gold medalist) wins tour de France and he's a superstar. Chris Froome does it, nobody knows who he is.
