People were saying he would be a problem for anyone in the history of boxing. Its crazy this mentality that a fighter is either a complete bum or he's high untouchable GOAT
I really like Joyce but he does appear well and truly done. Always slow, never had good defence but had the safety net of his chin. It seems that chin may well be permanently cracked. He now presents as a perfect storm for enduring multiple beatings and ultimate KO/stoppages. The leather he’s eaten to date is concerning enough - if the rate of punishment taken increases - then we’re talking serious and long lasting damage. He needs to get out now, imo. He can no longer be what he aspired to be. He’d just be hanging around for paydays and fulfiling the role of stepping stone.
The way to test it is to put him back in with Parker. If he does the same he can go back to fighting low or mid power fighters and carry on. Then when he fights big punchers who can box he probably gets in trouble again. Luckily for him Dubious is a quitter and he didn't get exposed earlier. Or why not put him in with the MMA fighter, that's a funny one.
Don't know for sure....however the word is .....someone saw him sitting in a cafe filling out an application for a company called "Gatekeepers R Us"
I'd much rather be a slow-fast speed fighter than an athletic phenom with blazing speed but only providing my slow-fast speed equilibrium was the perfect balance which to be fair is easier said than done, especially if you're working with a trainer, as Big Joe is, who doesn't understand the concept of slow-fast speed or a goddamn thing about how to find that perfect balance. If it's off even by just 0.1% it can go from being the greatest gift to the worst curse and being too heavy or too light is the easiest way to completely upset your slow-fast speed equilibrium. Hence why my alarm bells were going crazy when I saw Big Joe's weight in recent fights and why I fell into a deep depression for weeks after each of them. When you fight an elite slow-fast speed fighter the punches coming back at you are simultaneously coming too fast and too slow and it's nigh on impossible to prepare for that unless you have extensive experience fighting slow-fast speed fighters
Its really frustrating that most of them spent their prime years avoiding the good fights and now we're finally getting them they're physically done.
Yes, stick a fork in him - although truth be told he was never that good to begin with. His role going forward is serving a cannon fodder for rising prospects
