I think he has great skills bu his resume doesn't show how great he is or could've been. Not as bad as say a Calzaghe but it still leaves me questions. He is a great fighter and not just for beating my boy Manny in the rematch either. He was a great SFW and I thought he beat John and the Norwood fight was very close and possibly could've gone either way. I don't hold the Mayweather loss against him for obvious reasons and I do think he got robbed in the second fight with Pacquiao. I think he's one big win shy from becoming an ATG if he's not there already. I love watching him fight and may become a fan of his but whether I do or not it's hard to root against the guy. He's very brave and is one of the last Mexican greats from the early 00's along with Morales that are still relevant. Also a solid technician who knows the craft of boxing very well. He's the mexican Hopkins or Tyson without the dirtiness lol(kidding of course).
moving up in weight classes, knocking out the champion says enough, unlike floyd who moved up in weight and beat belt holders for the 12 round boring win
Ice, you're barking up the ***** tree but MAG doesn't think Mayweather's a great fighter either. He's tough on just about everybody. Crazy tough. The brother thinks Duran is extremely overrated too.
One of the few Mexicans in history to win championships in 3 weight-classes, proven to be AT LEAST Pacquiao's equal twice between two spans of his technical development, beat a very competitive Barrera, future champion Orlando Salido, top contenders Rocky Juarez and Robbie Peden, and consistently dominated the lightweight division by beating top-ranked division champions and contenders (ruining rising star Juan Diaz, stopping a still game Joel Casamayor, and getting up off the floor from a bomb to stop a possessed swarmer in Katsidis), all at least once by knockout, past his best weight at well over 35 years of age. The man never lost decisively except for a failed welterweight experiment in which he was screwed on the scales after ceding all in-ring advantages to begin with. JMM is a Great fighter.
Who ever voted no does not know anything about boxing is simply just hating. In my opinion though many will disagree is the greatest Mexican fighter when it comes to all around skills as a fighter, he could do it all and one of my favorites to watch. I just could never see myself missing a fight when he is the ring:good
:huh are you accusing me of something **** off, where is your gayass avatar of Amir Khan naked. I mentioned Mayweather and Pacquiao because he fought both dumbass. Stick to talking about Khan :hi:
:thumbsup. Jmm is an ATG.. there was a poll once done here and although ATG status is very subjective half said he already is while the other half said he needed a little more like defeat another young lion at 140 and become the first 4th title Mexican ... IMO jmm already is an ATG.
Marquez is a ATG in my book. The guy is a great boxer, has a quality resume and is a dominant LW champ involved in excellent fights against top opponents. What more could you want?
I felt he beat Pac in a razor thin fight, but no matter who you think won, the man went life and death with the P4P king. As for the Mayweather L, it was his first time moving up to that weight and he was in his late 30s...AND THEN Mayweather didnt even make weight. Didn't get KO'd either. Doesn't really knock his legacy much IMO
