ATG just like P4P are opinions not facts. If you think he is, then he is. Others just may not agree with you.

I probably consider him an ATG, but I can see how you might have him at HOF level if you apply stricter criteria to ATG'ness. He is near the line between HOF and ATG I think.

What does Tarver beating Jones have to do with the question at hand?

Tarver and Marquez legacies are largely built off of beating one fighter.

Marquez has only lost to the very best of his era. He is a great fighter. He is so close to being an atg, but is he? I'd put him there as he would give anyone in and around his weight in history a fight. He also knocked out an atg unconscious for 4 minutes and everyone thought that that atg was dead. Scared the bejesus out of me.

Tarver has a reputation for beating old guys, Marquez doesn't.

Marquez has a reputation for taking power pellets, Tarver doesn't.

So are we talking about age or power pellets? You decide because if you want to go that route, I doubt that you really do. Again, WTF does Tarver and Marquez have in common with Marquez being ranked as an atg?

Hatton is not a H.O.F fighter. Cotto is close.

I have it in the following order:

    - great - fighters with great ability but not great resume e.g. golovkin
    - elite - bradley, ward
    - HOF - joe calzaghe
    - ATG - de la hoya, roy jones
    - legendary - sugar ray leonard, pacquaio
    - Ali - Muhammed Ali for exceptional contribution in raising the profile of the sport and exceptional contribution outside the ring.
