I still dont take this thread as meaning the hardest p4p puncher...I think the author meant literally the hardest puncher ever outside the heavyweight division..

Which a lot of these smaller blokes surely would not be.

    I think you're right.

Well, in that case I agree with the earlier poster that said Ezra Sellers.

He stretched the ultra tough Carl Thompson for the count.

    Consider this.

David Haye, a legitimate heavyweight now, and one of the hardest hitting cruiserweights of all time, couldn't even knock Thompson down. He beat on Thompson, a OLD Thompson until Haye was so exhausted a breeze could have blown him over.

The ultra hard hitting Crawford Ashley also failed to put away Thompson.

Ezra Sellers almost knocked Alex Stewart out with a jab.

Sellers was a mean ****ing puncher...He defied the norms of biomechanics with the power he could get from punches that he didnt even seem to put a lot into. That right hook he nailed Thompson with to end it just looked like he wasnt even trying but you see how it just nailed poor old Carl right on the sweet spot.

Yeah, wasn't Sellers leaning back or some **** when he sparked Thompson as he was coming in? :?

It's funny because when in shape Sellers was a classic cruiserweight. A 190 pounder, and he could STILL do **** like that. David Haye even as a 200 pound cruiserweight was still a glaring heavyweight boiled down.

Any other Sellers fights come to mind?

I've heard he's KO'd guys Julian Jackson style with range finders.

Let me try and find the quote.

    Found it.

I've seen Ezra Sellers KO people with range finders, and I mean dead asleep. I’ve seen Ezra Sellers nearly kill IRON CHINNED Johnny Nelson. I’ve seen Ezra Sellers fold Carl Thompson over, and nearly kill him as well, and that mother ----- is as tough as they come.

    Just about sums it up.

It's funny because Johnny Nelson went the ****ing distance with Corrie Sanders, Henry Akiwande and James Thunder when he weighed under 200 pounds.

Your talking like he isn't even close. Jackson is up there P4P wise. I think Jackson hit harder than Hearns from 154-160 pounds up.

I would probably have Joe Choynski higher then Jackson in p4p power the guys was a middleweight and ko'd heavyweight both Jack Johnson and Jeffries said he was the hardest hitter they faced I think Corbett said it as well and those guys took shots from guys like Fitz, Langford and McVea to name a few.

Julian Jackson could really throw bombs.

Hardest punching non-heavyweight has to be Bob Foster or Hearns.

Hearn's is too small if this isn't a P4P discussion. Foster was for all intents and purpose a natural LHW version of Hearn's... Know what I mean?

Well if that's the case then you cannot put a 154/60 pounder as the hardest punching non-heavyweight, you would have to settle for Holyfield or Haye in their cruiserweight days, because no way does Jackson hits as hard as they do in a overall sense.

Randy Shields was positive that Hearns was a harder puncher than Cuevas, ruling Pipino out. Nobody else ever did to Duran what Tommy did. Hagler apparently ruled out Hearns with his citation of Cyclone Hart. Check out that footage sometime. Too bad for Eugene that Marv fought him from the southpaw stance.

Fitz shattered an opponent's wrist with an errant punch and was known to register a knockout with a blow to the forehead.

Jaime Garza himself said, "Nobody hit harder than Little Red."

Julian Jackson surely must be the hardest hitting non heavyweight champion of the 12 round era.
