Is Julian Jackson the hardest hitting non-heavyweight in the history of boxing?

    Contemporary accounts claimed that Fitz was probably the hardest puncher who ever lived, P4P. And perhaps it's telling that Fitz (at 165) took a single round to hand Maher (at 180) his first defeat. I consider Maher to have been a heavyweight anyway.

    Maher was the Earnie Shavers of his era.

    The hardest hitter of the day, but a man who got to the top on the strength of his power and not much else.

    Well if thats the case then Jackson certainly is up there if not the no1.

    We need the criteria clarifying here.

    Are we talking p4p, or outright?

    Does fighting at heavyweight exclude you?

    Whether or not Jackson is #1 or not is impossible to say. But, he should definitely be in any conversation about hardest punchers of all time. His power was unreal.
