Fantastic fighter 'El Gran Campeón Mexicano' was. I would've fancied him to paddle Floyd's ass.

I agree. Calling an All Time Great like JCC Senior overrated, is just plain ignorant.

His son, however, was wildly overrated until a few weeks ago.

Yes it is disrespectful he was a beast in his prime. One seriously tough and bad hombre.

Julio Cesar Chavez was no different then the rest. No rhythm, no defense, solid chin. A smaller version of Yory Boy Campas, basic and stagnant.

He's one of the best fighters I've seen. :good

People forget what he was doing to contenders at 130 and what he did to Rosario in 1987, that was an all-time classic beatdown if ever I've seen one - and Rosario was a bad-a$s lightweight.

I don't see what the problem is with him beating up complete bums in between real fights.
If those fights offend you, just ignore them, scrub them off his record entirely, and he still has a great record.

I think you people will find that ATGs such as Willie Pep, Sugar Ray Robinson had similar "filler" on their records too.

    Log the f*ck off, son.

Pryor likely would have ducked that fight, just like he ducked Leonard, Duran & had his wife shoot him to avoid fighting Mamby.

It's a wonder they ever managed to get him in a ring with Arguello. :-(

That's the difference between fighting twice a year and over half a dozen times a year, bruv. No rational person would expect Mayweather to be fighting a solid opponent if he were fighting on that kind of schedule.

That kind of run was the norm in boxing before the growth of television in the 50's. Fighters used to stay sharp by fighting journeyman and tomato cans to stay sharp and pick up a quick purse.

You're outdoing yourself in this thread, son. :patsch

Only after he defeated Taylor. He just began living the diva life. I hated him after that fight. Before that he was a wrecking ball. NObody wanted to fight him.
