Kebabyal doesn't deserve anything. People are deluded if they think he somehow 'earned' a shot at all the belts with Usyk. He literally dodged everyone for years after the Chisora win. As much as Dubious is a hype-job, he at least fought Joyce pre-KO, Croatian and AJ. And because he beat the other two he ended up with a better record instantly than Kebabyal who has been around for many many years. If Kebabyal misses out on the Usyk fight it's his own fault for playing it safe all this time.
Kabayel apparently ducked Joyce for an EBU defence in 2019, no injury was mentioned in any of the articles: https://www.*****.com/joe-joyce-agit-kabayel-withdraws/ This was a Kabayel whose only signature victory came against Chisora 22 months prior. And a Joyce who looked very beatable, coming off a close/controversial decision win over Jennings in Britain. Makhmudov (Kabayel's only "notable" opponent for 6+ years at the time) was a hype job, Sanchez's only win worth mentioning was over Ajagba (a top 15 heavyweight at best) and Zhang was on the cusp of 42, having already lost (though close/controversial) twice (Hrgovic, Parker) and only beaten one legitimate contender (Joyce), twice. He's looked good but he's been carefully maneuverered.
Possibly? Maybe? But nah Usyk is a golden God. Half man / Half minutare All dancing bear … I wish… he was … my dad.
