I mean, he had difficulty with Old man Collazo, he did not look good in this fight. Collazo apparently could not see? I mean he had his eyes open, but he could not see? Is Thurman going to get exposed if he steps up in competition? Is he going down the path of Adrian Broner? Is he going to get Maidana'd? :huh
i dont know if he is going to get Maidana'd knowing that maidana is out of shape, but he will be in big troubles against a good puncher.
No. Broner was a real hypejob who believed his own hype Thurman still has humility and is aware of his glaring flaws but has yet to be beaten despite his slow elevation in opposition. It will take a high calibre fighter to beat him. I still want to see Alexander thurman. I think Alexander is the lowest ranked welter who stands a chance to beat him.
He's already been exposed, you can win and still be exposed. He needs work. But no, he won't be anything like Broner.
Naw, I didn't miss the fight and I didn't see him exposed either. He got hurt but that happens and before you try and down play Collazo, don't. The man was on tonight and came to fight. He put in some good work but he still got his ass kicked and made to retire on his stool.
He's stepped up in class and isn't walking through people anymore. Pretty normal, tbh. Thurman needs to be tested and battle-hardened pros like Collazo are the sort of guys to to do it.
His nickname's always been corny and illogical, take that out and it's a guy stepping up and struggling a little more, I've never considered him ''the next ATG'' just an interesting, capable young fighter who needs to swim with the sharks rather than just the bigger fish. He's came out alright, not sparkling but so what.
Pretty much the summary, Crimson. Thurman's doing okay but he's never looked like a young Ray Leonard or something. The prospect-overhype tendency is strong in the world of boxing.
Watch his last few fights. He's starting to struggle against very b players. too his credit, he's not as ignorant of his flaws as Broner is, and those that do watch him know that he's probably destined for improvement to somewhere between where provodnikov peaked and Canelo is . He is just flawed enough that he does make it interesting to watch, but the type of struggles that he seems to go through before hitting any major opponents is worrying. i'm a fan, just a realistic one.
