Kell Brook is not rated #1 in his division, so this thread is simply incorrect and irrelevant.

:yep According to ellerbe Hearn pays the IBF to pick mandatory's. And allegdy paid Khan, Bundu and Bradley to step aside for Funtime Frankie

Good old ellerbe. Were it not for his frankly disturbing hatred of Brook I would be inclined to enjoy his more effective troll threads. The Fu cking guy is destined to be a respondent in a future restraining order....

:lol: He tries to claim he lives in a 1,000 pound a day apartment in Japan and has this sensational job that pays him a fortune.

Yet his posting hours Japan time seem to be between 3am and midday, has only ever heard of fighters that have been on HBO/ Showtime, and who would pay him all that money when he's not clever enough to wipe his own bum.

Of course, this Japan nonsense only came up when I identified him as an alt and to prove otherwise he said he'd get a mod to check his IP.

The reality is he is a ghetto dweller from some **** hole in the USA living in his mums cellar, and he is posting through a Japanese proxy as Brook made his last alter ego untenable after he bet everything on Brook proving to be a bum against Porter because he hadn't been on HBO...oh deary, deary me.

We've been watching Brook for a long time over in the UK.

It's long been clear that he can box, but it's been a disappointing ride.

It took forever to step him up to world level and although he did well against Porter, Jo Jo Dan and now Gavin is another backwards step.

I'll give him Dan because of the injury, but not Gavin; its a poor fight.

Brook is a good boxer, but there's something wrong. I'm not sure what it is, but I see him coming unstuck at some point.

When you compare their careers and the level of opposition its hard to believe that Brook turned pro a year before Khan.

I agree that Gavin is a really boring uninteresting fight. Perhaps one of the worst title challengers of all time?

Dan was a comeback mandatory after almost having his leg hacked off though.

What is the issue with Brook fighting Gavin? Look at the reasons:

I can't see how anyone can give Brook criticism for fighting Gavin. If you look at the circumstances:

    - The main event of the card was going to be DeGale v Dirrell but Matchroom lost the purse bid.

-5-6 weeks out Matchroom had paid all this money to undercard fighters, they needed a main event to replace it to make it seem PPV worthy. Of the top Matchroom guys Froch and Quigg was still injured, so Brook stepped in despite only fighting 3 weeks earlier- a fight he was going to have AS WELL AS, not INSTEAD OF the two fights he's fighting in August and November.

    - With 5-6 weeks notice they needed to find an opponent who the IBF would accept, would be willing to split the 1.1m they had left to spend on the show with Brook.

    - The top ranked available IBF contender being that Khan ducked and Bradley went the WBO route was Frankie Gavin, who was ready to fight as he had been in training for a fight in May 9th with Chris van Heerden and being that he was the top ranked IBF challenger and Khan would've continued to duck Brook- Brook would've had to fight Gavin anyway before the year is out or vacate his belt.

People fail to understand Brook was never meant to be fighting on this card but was put in due to Matchroom losing the purse bids for DeGale-Dirrell.

He is fighting this fight as well a, not instead of the two fight dates he's got later this year.

And in one of the two later this year, it's likely that he would've been forced to fight Gavin anyway as a mando, unless in the unlikely event Khan agreed to face Gavin in an eliminator. (Which we know wouldn't happen).

It don't matter when Thurman is willing to do it. Who needs to be willing is Brook. It don't have to be Thurman, It could be Maidana. Arum's stable of welters can't present the proper challenge. No disrespect to JMM or Bradley, they are just too small and Rios can be easily out boxed. Brook is cherrypicking.

Brook has got bigger fish to fry than Thurman. Brook is a legit world champion he has far bigger paydays in Khan/ Marquez/ Pacquiao and far more credit.

But you keep saying Thurman is calling him out- so why has Team Thurman never made a single offer to Brook if he is so kean to fight him.

And what incentive is there for Maidana to fight Brook. The IBF won't allow him as a challenger because he is coming off 2 defeats. Plus judging by a recent video he needs to come down from about 220lbs.
