lol I thought this was a joke when I clicked on this thread.

Hell why stop at Pavlik... Let's just go ahead and see Pacquiao v. Cain Velasquez...

Arum, Dana White... make it happen...:D

While it is extremely unlikely, I do think it may be a possibility. What with Pavlik also being a Top Rank fighter and all.

Pavlik is no Thomas Hearns. Hearns was a fellow great as was Duran. Two greats fighting. Manny would not be stopped in a two round wipe out like Thomas did to Duran. I could see the fight go into rounds 6 and Pavlik landing and stopping Manny, but Hearns beat up Duran from the first bell to when the knockout happened.

I think it would be a great mega-fight.

But the fight itself would be a one sided beat down. Pacman is just way too fast for Pavlik to even touch.

Pavlik has a good punch, but his style was always to sit back and wait for guys to brawl with him. And we saw with Hopkins that if a guy is landing punches on him he goes into a shell. He always has that punchers chance, and he has a right hand, which is something most guys who fight Pacman do no have. If he were to fight Pacman, if I were his cornermen I would tell him keep throwing the right, it will eventually land.

But you'd also tell him to double the jab, right?

Pac wouldnt fight a 5 11 Foreman because he was too tall ( He stands upright unlike Marg who bends over) No way he fights a 6 2 Pavlik, He should fight Martinez should he win hes bout with PW at a catchweight at 156

That's only because you're in love with Kelly Pavlik though.

Pavlik would beat Pac. He's not Margarito.

margarito stunned Pac. What do you think Pavlik would do who hits 5x as hard?

A "great chance to win" against Paul Williams or Sergio Martinez? I strongly disagree, the difference is these are two big guys who throw punches, are actually athletic, and I would hardly say Pac has a "great chance to win" versus either. I think they both beat Pac.

If the PBF fight can't get done. I want Pac to face the Williams-Martinez winner.

Don't worry, we are dealing with a kind of people who called Ali, Duran and Pep BUMS.

Due to the disparity in physical attributes, Pac would have a great deal of trouble landing even one significant punch. If and when he did land, he would get zero repsect. The fight ends with the first right hand Pavlik lands, and he would have 12 very safe rounds to land.
