Honestly, it's hard to give him a chance right now against anybody in the super middleweight tournament. Is he finished as a fighter or will he come back and prove to be a great champion?
He can still dominate MW for the foreseeable future. Williams would be the only guy to give him trouble for a while. Rough spot for him right now given fight options, but "finished" is way premature.
Pavlik already beat Taylor twice so he beat one fighter that is in the tournament. I don't know about the word "done fighter"
Why would anyone even suggest he is finished? He just fought in Febuary, and in case you weren't paying attention, he ***** slapped his #1 mandatory into submission, and made him cry on his stool. According to Cameron Dunkin KP has been suffering from injuries to his back, one foot, and his left elbow. In addition, his wife just gave birth to a son around the time of his last fight. The kid needed and wanted a break. Instead of investigating to learn the facts, fans and so called journalists all over the freaking world started bashing him, and perpetuating vicious rumours. He has a fight scheduled for October 3rd. The short list of possible opponents is on Vindy.Com. It includes three world champions, and a future hall of fame inductee.
Not even close. He just needs to get back in the ring and do what he does--provide highlight reel KOs. MW may be a wasteland now, but who remembers how bad 140 was a year and a half or so age. Or 154 about a year ago, now they are much better divisions. It really doesn't take long for a division to gain some steam, so I think he should spend the next 12-18 mos cleaning out MW then once the tourney is near done if there isn't anything there, go up to SMW for good. We haven't heard the last of Pavlik, not by a long stretch.
MW and CW are probably the worst divisions in boxing. Pavlik's between a rock and a hard place: make boring MW defenses against sub-par opposition, or fight world class opposition at a higher weight, a weight he hasn't exactly shined at up to now. .
I think he would beat Abraham, already beat Taylor twice, he is a natural 160 pounder, careers go up and down, leave him alone.
how can he be finished? he's the number 1 middleweight in the world. by the looks of things he could be ruling the division for quite some time. why does he have to move up to 168? MW is his division, i think he should stay there, take on all challengers, and whoop the hell out of every one of them. that's how they did it in the old days. i'd be more than happy with that.
He can and probably will be king at Middleweight for awhile. Can he beat any of the fighters in the Super Middleweight tourney...not a chance.
What the **** kind of indication is there that he's finished, you delirious noob?! The guy lost to a top ATG P4P, came back down to MW and dominated his mandatory. He's taken the summer off and doesn't look himself lately. Big deal. Jesus, this Pavlik hate is getting way over the line.
