No, seems like he's rated just fine to me- a very good fighter whose not at the "great" level, but is a deserving champ at his weight and a tough matchup for the division. Plus, whenever a fighter knocks out the champion to win the title, he hasn't just earned his rating- he's taken it.

He is only overated by boo and hermit. Pavlik is a one trick pony. He wont man up and fight AA.

Of course he's not a "fraud". Boxing is a meritocracy. He beat tough competition and also was outboxed by an all time great fighter, at too high a weight. Just watch his big fights and you'll see exactly what his strengths and weaknesses are.

But he is a legitimate world champion and won the title with a clean knockout, so he's obviously not a fraud.

Pavlik in all honesty not speaking to his diehard fans is not overrated. He is not a pfp fighter either. The jury is out on Pav because I don't know if he can beat a complete fighter. The way he lost to Hop was embarrassing. Pav is a guy who uses the jab, and stays busy, using both hands, but give him a little movement, and land hard on him, and he is exposed as being a limited boxer. Only his fans overrate him, so I don't consider Pav overrated.

    :good Word.

Funny thing to me, I know you and Boo esp. like to go at it, but Boo laid down EXACTLY how to beat Pavlik in prob. 2007 or early '08....and it just happened to be Mr. Hopkins to implement the game plan to PERFECTION.

He is very limited as a fighter. He was not blessed with natural athletism at all. He has sloppy footwork, slow hands, bad defense just to name a fiew. If you give him lateral movement he is confused and has not idea what to do. I would love to see him fight Kessler. Kessler would whip that gangly dudes ass worse than Grampa BHOP did.

He is just barely 27 years old, and the #1 middleweight in the world. He scratched and clawed and fought his way to the top, and even had to fight TWO eliminators to get a title shot.

Miranda roared through 160 like a man on fire. He had only one loss in a VERY controversial fight with Abraham. Eastman gave Arthur a good fight, and Miranda stopped the same version of Howard in 7 rounds. Pavlik damn near beat the black off Edison Miranda!

Jermain held two, not one, but two wins over Hopkins, and Pavlik pounded JT down into a corner and left him there, and then beat him by UD in the rematch.

Abraham lost 4 rounds to LuJaun Simon, let Ayala stay in the fight for nearly 12 rounds, and let shannon Taylor finish on his feet. Simon, Ayala, and Taylor would not last 4 rounds with KP. However, if you put up a poll on Pavlik/Abraham, it would run about 50/50. On ESB Kelly Pavlik is riduclously under rated.

I do not argue with Nallege. He's a moron, and the first person I ever put on my ignore list.

I voted yes......he is a very simple boxer.....double jab....and right hand....and at 160 he is blessed be that large and uses his power to win fights.....once he gets in there with a elite slick, good chined boxer....pavlik will get beat, and most likely KO'D

There are 19 yes votes, but only about 5 voters offered an explanation, and 3 of the 5 explanations are moronic opinions not reasoned arguments.
