None but both have been trying to work up to title shots and not expect to just be given one based on having a couple of good wins several years
    ago.

Yes money is the reason the fight happens but it is not deserving.

Virgil Hunter is more realistic about Ward/Pavlik than any journalist or any Ward supporter. "You're talking about a man who's out to reclaim, and that's not a man you wanna play around with."

Pavlik fought 3 times in 2012. Surely there must be someone who can point to a specific event, in the ring, that backs up this silly "Past his prime" claim. So far, all I see are unsubstantiated claims. There's lots of video out there, so put up, or shut up.

I think this has potential to be a great fight with a lot of interest. Kelly has a chance if he puts down the bottle and brings his sledge hammer punching and aggressive never quit attitude with him. He should treat this very very seriously. A win could put him right back at the top. He should definitely play that Korn song on the walk in. Congrats to both of them for making the fight.

I also wouldn't be terribly surprised if the fight is delayed or put off due to some problem with Kelly. Hopefully Kelly gets it together and comes into the fight clean and gives it his all. He has a lot to gain.

 No, he isn't even within spitting distance of his prime. Was this a serious question?

No, Pavlik isn't in his prime but I don't think he's shot either. I think Ward should be a big favorite but a lot of that is more credit to Ward for being the best fighter in boxing than a discredit to Pavlik.

Obviously you have seen the caliber of opponent he has been facing. These guys are stiffs and Kelly has been looking less than sharp in there with them. I honestly question if he would fare well with any legitimately ranked opponent let alone a champion. I'm a fan of Pavlik and this fight is wrong in every way except for money.

    Hopkins forcefully ended his prime.

    If not Hopkins, then Maravilla.
