I don't know where it was, but somewhere back there someone said Ricky Hatton is a better boxer than Kelly Pavlik. I think i threw up in mouth a little from how sick that made me.

I just need that explained by someone.

Not in a boxing match. Especially not when one fighter suddenly finds himself in a bit of trouble.

    It wasnt me but...

How do you think Pavlik would have faired against a prime RJJ. Worse then Hatton did against Mayweather?

    A : I'd say no better.

Hattons fought 3 and beat 2 p4p top ten boxers, Pavlik hasnt even fought a single one.

Hatton is a two division champion, Pavlik isnt.

Hatton has 44 wins and his only ever loss is to Mayweather. Pavlik has 34 wins, at the moment Hatton has the better resume.

Kelly has got a fair few years to surpass Hatton, and may well do, but at the moment his resume just isnt as good, as Hattons. End of story.

Castillo was no 7 in the Ring Magazine P4P top ten list, Taylor was definitely not on any Ring P4P lists. Taylor is only no 10 in the Ring contender rankings at the moment. A million miles away from p4p material. They think hes that poor there on the verge of not even making him a top ten condender.

Stick who you like in your own p4p list, put Gary Locket and Taylor in. If you like.

Im going by what the ring states and Castilo was p4p no 7 with them when Hatton fought him. That is a FACT.

Hatton is a two weight champ, Pavlik isnt. Live with it.

I like both these boxers, I'm not getting into this debate any further; its a silly one.

I really can't see why these two boxers are being compaired.

nothing's 'fact' if it's based on an independent magazine's opinion.

truth is that castillo was only known in the public eye because of the awesome fight against corrales - and not many people really knew him before then.

'the emperor's new clothes' syndrome is really applicable to boxing - because people like to big up exciting fighters.

this doesn't always mean they are P4P. but people like to think they are.

truth is taylor might not have been the most exciting fighter in the world but he deserved a lot more rep than castillo, and even though i'm a hatton fan, don't ever try and use his padded frank warren - inspired record to compare him to other fighters.

that's why hatton left warren and why he has my respect no matter what he does from this day onward.

I didn't realize that "The Ring" P4P rankings were the holy bible of P4P rankings. Considering that Castillo had recently been TKO'd by Corrales and then couldn't even make weight for the rematch, TWICE, really puts a new spin on POUND FOR POUND. If the guy can't even make weight, how can he then be a P4P candidate? He also was coming off a questionable win over Ngoudjo. It just goes to show that "The Ring" is just corrupt as the Alphabet's. Especially considering it is owned by a PROMOTER! No conflict of interest there!

Not my opinion, ring magazines opinion. I never gave my opinion.

It is a gathered opinion but still: It is fact that Ring Magazine had Castillo in their p4p top 10. You can agree or disagree with it, perhaps he didnt deserve to be there, but it is fact he was. Ring magazine had him in their top ten p4p list.

Hatton has fought 3 and beat 2 Ring Magazine top ten p4p fighters.

Ring magazine can be easily criticised but as a universal reference, on the whole, its one of the best we all have.
