...for the Calzaghe fight? Has the experience of going 12 rounds with Calzaghe made Kessler a better fighter or has the loss destroyed his confidence? Will Kessler fight better against Ward than against Calzaghe?
the kessler that lost to joe would still be competitive w/ and/or beat anyone in the tourney. fact is (and there is a recent thread on this though its been known for quite some time), kessler had a procedure on his hand shortly after the joe fight. as for the poll question. i can't say it will have an effect either way. ward is damn good. in time, ward will be even better. the kessler of the first six rounds of the joe fight would beat most anyone. the kessler of the last six rounds who hung in there when joe started turning on the heat is still a dangerous man. so, i'm not sure the "L" will have any effect on him. i'm really looking forward to this fight. should be a lot more competitive than a lot of people think. both fighters are very talented.
I dont think it will have knocked his confidence. He strikes me as being a very grounded, confident sort of fella.
I think he's very motivated so if Ward really tests him he'll show that he can take it to another level
Kessler knows how important this fight is,and he is allways best when he is facing a top opponent...And this time he is fighting in Andre ward´s backyard...He will be top motivated..If Kessler is injuryfree and things are going well in camp..He will be very difficult to play with.
I think Kessler will win, but it won't be as easy as some are saying. He's fought nothing but tomato cans for the last two years. And he got hit quite a bit by Perdomo. Ward's a much better fighter than Perdomo, and much slicker. I can see Kessler winning, but I don't think it will be pretty.
About the same - perhaps slightly less. Expect that to be enough though can't be sure. Not sure about Ward. From the little i've seen of him he looks good. But i haven't quite had the religious experience some ppl seem to get from watching "Son of God" (cringe). Time will tell - and that's at least enough to be thankfull for - even for a die hard atheist.
