The reason I ask is because i'm almost sure that a kessler/RJJ fight could be made rather easily in the U.S. Reasons are
    1. roy can make 168
    2. It's for a real world title( not a BS IBO 180 lb belt:patsch)
    3. kessler now has a sensible promoter
    4. Kessler would fight in the u.s.
    5. A win for kess would gaurantee a hopkins fight
    6. Both fighters have everything to gain/nothing to lose
    7. jones and hopkins would net kessler far for dough
and status than the 2 years he'll be toiling away with
inferior fighters to himself in this tourney
    8. This is the best fighter roy has fought since joe, but
a little bit better stylewise for roy.
    9. Who wouldn't want to see it.

However, if mikkel is under contract for 2 years then it's a moot point.

    Just wondering

No thank you. I'd rather much see Kessler in the S6. I have no interest in seeing Kessler demolish RJJ. People are getting too delusional With RJJ win over corpse version of Jeff Lacy, as they did when he beat Trinidad as well.

I'm not getting carried away. While I do think he'd lose to kessler he can still live with the dane. It's for kess's benefit to see this all happen.

I don't know the details but I think they are all 'committed'. Plus his promoter came up with the thing so I don't think he is looking for an out.

So people can go on calling Jones old and shot, when Kessler beat him! No, thanks! Calzaghe tried it, got nothing out of it.. Kessler wont either! And imagine how many "Roy in his prime would have smashed Kessler" threads then would pop up on ESB daily!

Beat up on an old man which proves nothing? Or Take place in a grand tournament and prove your worth as a fighter? Hmmmm, I think Kessler would prefer option 2.

I agree. SS is a much better proposition for everyone. RJJ is past it despite the nice fight against Lacy.

The thread starter is severely underestimating the SS fighters. Taylor beat Hopkins and Froch beat Taylor. Who then go to RJJ to get Hopkins? Hopkins would be an ugly fight where Bernard would try to spoil his way to a no-event and hope to get a random decision because the rounds could be hard to score. For Kessler the fight makes little sense - unless it can be done in between SS fights - and for Roy the Green fight makes more sense as it is winnable.

And - Kessler is FAR FAR FAR FAR from sure of getting to the semis, much less final and much much less winnign SS.
