is Kessler ducking Froch?

Kessler is an absolute God in the eyes of the Danish media, every single fight of his are on PPV and do enormous amounts of buys. Trust me, Kessler brings a LOT more money to the table.

 

Enormous buys sure but in comparison. Denmark has a population 5mil and the currency the Krone is not as valuable as the pound.

 

Its all about the £.

Kessler wants a lot & Eddie cant guarantee it will be PPV, which is the only way the fight can be financed.

 

you need to see how this plays out before you can call it a duck.

If Hearn has offered big money and Kessler turns it down to fight a nobody for 1/4 of the amount, you have to question whether its a duck. If Kessler turns the fight down because he wanted an extra £100,000 you have to question if its a duck.

Also in general when a fighter is accused of ducking, its actually the promoter.

 

Kessler could fight me at Cruiser in Denmark and still sell out an arena, sell 500000 ppvs and get paid 5 million. You are underestimating his popularity and how much the Danes pay him.

 

No, you are massively over estimating it.

Kessler got paid $3million vs Calzaghe, which is about £2mil GBP. I guarantee thats his highest ever purse.

The biggest arena is 10,000. The tickets sell for a fraction of the cost. and if you actually believe that 1/3 of the homes in a country purchase his PPV's....your crazy!

 

Kessler has fought Calzaghe,Froch,Ward,so he doesnt duck anybody,certainly not a man he has already beaten.

He's probably driving a hard bargain because FROCH NEEDS HIM MORE THAN HE NEEDS FROCH.

Kessler probably wants a Ward rematch before he retires. A second fight with Froch would not only be a risk of losing, but more likely would be a tough win that would take a lot out of him.
Sure, the money should be good. But maybe he can make just as much fight a few more Magees, without any risk.
That's why he has to ask for top dollar.

 

I think most of the points mentioned in this thread all add up to why this fight hasn't been made.

Time is right for Carl, he's looking fresh, hungry and looking to seal his legacy. This fight needs to happen sooner rather than later, it could be a classic, I think it will be. I hope Froch decides to **** the IBF title, Bute and Stevenson off, lay into Kessler and if he wins go for Ward, if he loses, DeGale or Groves. 2 or 3 big paydays here.

 

Parken in Copenhagen have 40.000 seats.
Even the mediocre fight against Green sold 15.000 tickets.
I think the Andrade fight sold even more tickets.
A rematch against Froch (or Ward) would definitely fill Parken...
