Is Khan-Maidana in the main arena or in a smaller place like MSG's theatre again?

Last time out they had Khan in the MSG theatre rather than the main arena, obviously because he wasnt the main attraction in the US that he is in the UK. But Maidana is obviously a much anticipated name to Khans career, so will it be in the main arena for the Vegas fight or a smaller part of the arena? How many do u predict in terms of attendance aswell? There were 5,000-6,000 sold out in the MSG fight. thoughts?

I can only assume the entire purpose of your post is a dig at Khan for getting put in the WAMU instead of the main arena, however, Yeah from what I understand the fight is going to happen in the main arena

The main arena at MSG was booked when the Khan-Malignaggi fight went down, Also Paulie was never a big draw in his own hometown to fill the main arena. Last time Paulie fought at MSG was against Miguel Cotto before the Puerto Rican festival where Cotto not Malignaggi was the draw.

Mmmhmm. But with the big anticipation thats been going on over Khan and Maidana would ideally be a good selling point. What do you predict in terms of numbers of attendance?

Well I think more people are travelling for this one, A few people from here including myself, And some Americans are going from different parts of the US.

I just hoped that they would put Ortiz-Kotelnik on the undercard and Canelo Alvarez V Lovemore Ndou on the undercard instead of having Canelo fight in Mexico the same month.

But I guess a card like that is too much to ask for, But still Ortiz should be on the undercard. I would say about 7000-8000.

Also this time its Larry Merchant and Jim Lampley doing the comentating not Max Kellerman, Also the referee will be Tony Weeks for the main event.

It's at the Mandalay Bay which is something like 9/10,000 arena which is a couple short of the MGM.

The main arena wasn't booked when the fight was made. They just estimated that based on the numbers likely to attend that the WAMU would do what was required leaving the main arena for something else. Partly because as you say, Paulie nor Khan are that big of a draw

With James Kirkland coming back on the undercard too, it sounds like a good card all in all, with a very anticipated main event. And Tony Weeks is a good pick! I predict an 8 or 9 thousand crowd attendance. Hopefully Khan gets it in the bag but im predicting Khan to lose while ahead.. hope im proven wrong though.

I imagine the people who said they are anticipating a '10,000 sell out' are the very people trying to sell the event
