Is Khan really that chinny, or could dehydration be a factor?

To be fair Dan this thread is about Khan's chin! ;)

I agree with you in that it doesn't look great but not sure how that would diminish by moving up to Light Welter. Regardless of what weight he campaigns at he needs to tighten up his leaky defence.

Perhaps, except Khan has never fought at 140, hes been at 135 lbs since he turned pro, in fact he fought at 135 even at the 04 Olympics. When I look at Khan at 17 and see him now I wonder how he's still 135.

Yup but those two fighters were used to make a valid argument I feel. Warren matches his fighters that way whether they are iron jawed or not.

If you look at De La Hoya as an example, he looked a bit chinny because he was killing himself to make 130 but those problems dissapeared when he fought at a more natural weight.

Hydration could be a factor. He is quite lanky and cos he doesn't have a low centre of gravity and look sturdy it makes his kd's look a bit worse than they are. Alternatively, the kd's were bad. Limond might not be a puncher but sometimes when you land 7 good shots, it doesn't matter. Gomez can crack and landed nicely, but Khan was up immediately.

Khan so far appears not to have an iron chin but it isn't horrible. However, it's questionable if it is world class. Campbell, Katsidis, Diaz etc hitting you on the chin isn't pretty.

Yeah but you can't use one standard for him and another for his opponents.

Limond weighed 133 - 136 for most of his non-title 'superfeatherweight' fights.

Perhaps our friend is looking at the Miguel Cotto example, his chin has improved greatly from the move to 147 from 140 - but therein I see a big difference.

Cotto was on hunger strike to get to 140, whilst 135 seems reasonably easy for Khan.

Being dropped 3 times in 18 fights isn't necessarily bad, but if you look into the standard of opponent and their KO ratios, it indicates a glass jaw.

If he had the same 18 opponents as faced by Floyd Mayweather in his last 18 fights, there would be no question marks at all (leaving the fact aside that Khan is only a novice!)

Even if he had Chuvalo like chin the fact that his defence is so poor makes him a KO in waiting.

Very bad chin and I doubt he is dehydrated.

No more mention of Pacman or Nate or Diaz since saturday. As they wrote in the Mirror let alone Nate Campbell, Amir would struggle with Naomi Campbell.

Khan gets hit and alot. Cotto and PBF do not. Defensively there very sound. Khan fundamentally is very flawed.
