Amir Khan is overrated big time. The guy is talented but the guy cant take a punch to save his life. He's been deck on the floor by weak opposition and that tells you something. He has no defense and just relies on his speed and mediocre power to finish fights. He fought such weak opposition and now all of sudden hes a elite fighter lol give me a break. He beat a washed up Barrera and paper champ Andriy Kotelnik and he thinks hes ready for guys like May and Pac lol. I dont care if he spar with Pacquiao because if he comes up in weight he would get destroy by every welterweight trust me.
Actually I think he said he would like to face them as he was hitting his peak and they were just past theirs. He said its all about timing, i respect his honesty. I have my doubts about Khan at the mo until he fights a Bradley, Alexander type. But end of the day he is still young and i think he is in good hands with Roach. Fantastic speed but that isnt always enough at the very top. I hope he reaches the top tho, he got a nice leg up being an olympic medalist which brought many p's before much pro acheivement but he is certainly proving to be a lot better than goldmedal legend audley !! haha
I didn't say anything about him ducking. If he is then so be it. Did I disagree? No. Based on your posts, you just want to see Khan get knocked out. You wouldn't give two shits whether Khan made it out of the fight with a W. You'd still hate, so whether he fights his mandatory or not, it won't make a difference to fools like you who can't appreciate what he has. This thread was about a guy asking what he has, not what he doesn't. So I think you should **** off :hi:.
His chin is ****, yes. But no defense? Dude, he has defence, but it's just leaky. Mediocre power? Well I can't say anything about that because he hasn't really knocked or stopped anyone at top 140 elite level, but his next fight will surely prove his power if he stops Paulie, Correct? And he said he'd be ready in 12 months for them (Arguably when Khan would be at his peak). You just claimed Khan has all the talent in the world, so it's possible if his chin holds up, is it not? And yes Kotelnik was a weak champ but Khan took every flush punch from Kotelnik when he moved up in weight. Khan's got a big frame and I think another move up in weight could also help is resistance to a punch.
Kevin Mitchell would beat this chump with ease. Khan hasn't even proved himself the best in Britain. Mitchell handled Prescott with ease. Khan is just a joke............Come home and fight Mitchell please.
When Khan fought prescott he was an unknown quantity who hadnt boxed outside Columbia on the recommendation of that cuban he had as a coach . Nobody had any idea how hard prescott hit . Khan doesnt have the greatest chin in the world but that punch would have stopped any light weight in the world if he caught him cold . Mitchell had the advantage of following a blue print for beating prescott set by miguel vasquez ie get in close and make him miss which is easier for a smaller man to do . To be honest much as like Mitchell i think at light welter Khan would be too big strong and fast for him . Also it should be pointed out that paper champion Kotelnik won a 12 round decision over the mighty and terrifying maidana .
Khan's not that good. Durability of a wet piece of paper, very average skills, mediocre accuracy, poor composure, extremely flawed.
Good enough to beat Malignaggi on points, but his actual skills need to be evaluated in a few areas. Chin-Can this guy take a punch? Is it a matter of experience and willpower? These questions would have been answered with a Maidana fight.
