Khan is ducking Brook because he wants the Mayweather fight. In the mean time he's been fighting decent opponents, but ones stylistically made for him. He won't fight a puncher. You can't blame Khan for trying to get Mayweather, but in reality nothing Khan does can guarantee him that fight. Mayweather fights whomever he wants and nothing Khan does can change that. Khan could clean out the rest of the division and Mayweather could still say no, but for Khan to give himself the best chance, is Brook the answer? If Khan were to beat Brook then he holds a belt, with Mayweather holding the other three. They both also earn a lot of money with huge gate and PPV earnings. As well as being a big money fight, it will also capture the imagination of the British public. In his first years as a pro, Khan had wider appeal in the UK as he had done so well at the Olympics at a young age. These days I think his popularity has greatly diminished, as he fights in America and offers nothing for casual fans. The winner of Khan/Brook will be catapulted to a new level of s****om with greater potential future earnings. The winner will also be clearly the most worthy candidate for a Mayweather fight. All of that would look attractive to Mayweather. A chance to finish his career at 50-0, holding all belts in the WW division, big money and a worthy opponent. Nothing guarantees Khan a Mayweather fight, but does beating Brook offer him the best chance?
I really don't want this fight because timing beats speed, Floyd will put Khan on his ass believe me and Khan's been taking the least risk possible since Garcia stopped him and his delusion has only grown. I think he needs to beat Garcia to 'deserve' Mayweather ahead of him even entertainment wise he'll make a fun fight compared to Garcia, he shouldn't get it ahead of him. A close/either way Peterson win and beating Matthysse is much better than Alexander, Collazo and Algieri. Salsa was a joke. Khan also clearly ducked Brook, Garcia has been ducking Postol, I think the Brook one is a lot worse. I'd prefer Thurman even though he needs another solid win or two, he's even earned it compared to some other floyd opponents. (Not knocking Mayweather, he has a superb resume). I want Cotto again or Thurman just because I don't want Khan to get his chance anymore, before Maidana I did. He's done 'enough' compared to many other Mayweather opponents though. He deserves it more than Brook but he won't prove it by beating Brook for big money and to shut a long term rival up, who actually has a belt regardless. Khan's worst nightmare is getting knocked out by Brook and Brook vs Mayweather or he fights a puncher and gets stopped again and Brook land the Mayweather fight and he has to beg Brook for a domestic after another rebuild, he could also beat Brook and get Mayweather but he's 'selling out arenas and fighting the big names, Mayweather and Pacquiao always talk about Amir Khan, they don't know who Kell Brook is' yet he fears him beating him to the mega fights and has the belt he needs to guarantee a megafight lol.
As far as we know, hes retiring in September, so fighting someone else is obviously not the way to go
I say yes because he hasn't even established himself as being the best WW not named Floyd or Pac. Under those circumstances how can Khan's dumbass talk like he is owed anything.
Brook is not the way to Mayweather. Khan knows fully well that is the way to what is know as "the end of the line" ie retirement as a loser.
