nigel benn did'nt have a superb chin, when he got tagged he did a few dances.

But what benn did have was great upper body movement, could parry shots with his gloves, was extreamly dangerous when hurt and could bang like a bull which all got him out of a few dodgy situations and helped him recover.
And all of the above amir khan never had them and never will, what khan has is ingrained in him, its soaked into his skin and(non exsistant)brain.
he will come back beat a few decent boxers but he will lose to other boxers,he cannot adapt to styles

not only his chin but his torso and temple also seem vulnerable to shots

His chin has been known to be utterly awful since the Willie Limond fight. If Willie Limond puts you on ***** street then you can't take a punch.

Going 12 rounds with Maidana with a glass chin was impressive, but he was one solid punch away from being knocked out for the whole second half of the fight, and Maidana failed to deliver his shots with the sufficient accuracy.

Khan's defense is a problem too. A bigger problem that his chin even.

His punch resistance basically shows up his other flaws. When he gets hit he gives us a little insight into how **** he would be if he did anything other than throw punches like a lunatic. When hurt he tries to back up and clear his senses, box a bit cuter, but he's so utterly useless at it that he just get tagged repeatedly without throwing anything in return so he's effectively a punching bag.

He's got no layers, no depth and as soon he's hurt and loses sharpness - he deflates like a balloon being popped.

Its not his chin, he can take a punch but if its a particularly good one he struggles to recover, I belive like others have said its then down to ring iq, he doesnt seem to have a clue but I would have though that would get instilled into him by Roach? No?

Is it more down to the fact Khan gets tagged thinks he's tough instead of backing off? but he's rubbish when he backs off aswell! why doesnt he hold on for a bit?

To me he can box at distance for 12 rounds but he gets tagged and goes all bravado!

Stop defending the chin, its proven glass man

Khan has one of the worst chins in boxing how can anyone even dispute that anymore?

    :yep

All Benn's opponents knew that even when they hurt him they still had to be careful.

With Khan, it's pretty much lights out once he gets chinned. There's literally no coming back.

It's just a case of whether he can run away for long enough or convince the referee that despite being twatted around the ring and offering nothing back that he's still capable of continuing.

To be fair, the punches that have knocked Amir down are big shots. These shots are landing flush with his competitor putting full leverage behind them.

Khan was all over the shop in the end but I believe that was due to accumulation damage. When hurt, fighters with high ring IQ usually avoid taking anymore hard artillery - unlike Khan. He takes shot after shot after walking on to frightening punches. No wonder he can never recover guys. How on earth can Amir recover when he's walking to more heavy shots? He doesn't even give himself a chance tbh.

He was lucky Maidana nailed him in the 11th round. A round earlier and he would have been stopped imo.

It was the 10th round btw, but yeah your right it was late on in the fight, Maidana had got up from a hard bodyshot knockdown and Cortez certainly was not on Maidanas side if it was Smoger Khan would have been stopped.

it's suspect, but not as bad as most make out. i remember someone did a video compilation of RJJ taking big shots and him not flinching.

I think someone could do the same with khan taking big shots from maidana, peterson and garcia.

obviously they could do a video with him doing all his dances too.

I personally think it's his concentration that leads to him being hurt. When he knows and expects bombs he seems to take them relitively well. When he gets overconfident or just switches off - he's more susceptible

khan fights as if he doesnt realise he can be countered

garcia had the balls to stand and return fire every time khan started punching. it wasnt even countering. it was trading shots. garcia had the better chin. i think he beats khan 10/10 times

That's an insult towards Limond to be honest, he won that that fight.
