THe first Landaeta fight was a blatant robbery, but Koki easily won the second fight. He was also like 19 at the time.

Kameda will make it stateside eventually, if there's an opponent who's popular enough over here near his weight class. His folks were in talks with Arce back before Arce lost to Mijares.

For all the people claiming that Kameda got some sort of hometown decision over Naito because he is popular, you guys don't understand the Japanese boxing scene right now.

The fact is that Naito is MUCH more popular than Kameda in Japan. Naito is a real mainstream celebrity, household name. He had TV spots for P&G, national fast food chains, and various other endorsement deals. He has a wholesome image, and is regularly featured on variety programs. Naito had proven in recent fights that he could also draw huge numbers to watch his fights on network TV in Japan.

Sure, Kameda is equally as well known, but more in a Tyson-post-prison type of way. More notorious than popular.

I think if anyone was going to get a gift decision it would have been the golden boy Naito.

Kameda was just sharper, more economical, and won a close fight.

    I think N

To put the magnitude of this fight into perspective, 43% of all television sets in Japan were turned into this fight. Forty.....Three....Percent..... Just think about how crazy that number is.

The Superbowl this year did a 42% share in the US. So this fight in Japan was as big, and probably bigger, than a Superbowl is in the US.

And the result of the fight covered the entire front page of all newspapers today, not the front page of the sports section, but the front page of the whole damn paper!!

    This was Japan's Ali/Frazier
