Kovalev doesn't have the stamina to box from outside vs very top quality opposition for more than 6 rds. If the opponent is still there and can crack, he becomes vulnerable because his sense of distance misfires and he has no inside game. Curious to see where Kovalev goes from here.
Kov is always going squqre and crossing his legs. And his chin is always way too high after he throws. Usually his power counteracts these issues. But not last night
You win some you lose some. Nice call to go with the dog Berto in a close fight. Kovalev, well, in his prime I don't think he would've lost to Alvarez. And even at this point there wasn't clear reason to worry that Kovalev couldn't handle the punch of a guy who's not a knockout puncher, or would be so mentally unsure of himself. Is the betting lesson not to bet on a guy if he hasn't faced good opposition lately as you can't gauge his level from mismatches? I don't know, that would make too many fights no plays.
He got krushed again, his chin has been exposed tbh, Kovalev has never been in with legitimate puncher with skills and even someone who is an average but sharper puncher in Alvarez rocked him all around the ring.
Exactly. People always want to say something or someone “got exposed”. So silly. Kovalev has a solid enough chin. Nothing “exposed” about it.
He didn’t clinch because he is used to being the one rocking the opponent not the one being rocked. Usually only fighters who have been in tough moments know what to do when they get hurt. He has a bad chin, Ward had him in big trouble and he ain’t a puncher, now Alvarez who also isn’t a known puncher rocked him all over the place.
Thanks brother! Yeah no doubt if you go to my profile page you'll see I put 75$ on Berto. I only lost 80$ total thanks to Kovalev. I have won a handful of bets on Kovalev though like Agnew under 6.5, Ward 2X's & a few other bets. It's weird in the back of my head I did say to my self Kovalev has been Exposed as an Alcoholic & weak to the body. I should have trusted that tiny bit of intuition, whatever I'm gonna take it & learn. It sucks but I feel I get smarter every weekend I bet. I've been betting on boxing since around May 2010 Khan-Malinnaggi. I believe Khan-PM was one of the first fights I ever beg on lol. I was into boxing before that though
