always thought your threads were decent, never realised you were a troll, still you carry on being the only one on this thread to talk about the tragic outcome while the rest of us talk about B O X I N G
There's a million other KO artists that looked like beasts who were eventually "exposed", why of all people did you pick the guy who had a stroke from brain damage incurred in the match to compare Kovalev to? How about Tyson or Jackson or Matthysse or Bute....no you go with McClellan. But thanks for liking my threads.
That offer wasn't right for artur, why in gods name would beterbiev want to fight in Moscow ffs that's the last place he wants to go I'd say
bit odd seeing people saying kovalev has better resume, seeing as McGs career was cut short at a certain age. If you compare like for like age for age, MClellans reusme was MUCH better. BUt then he belonged to that era when it wasn't yet accepted for people to remain bumkilling prospects when heading towards their thirties, as has become the norm today (which makes sergei standout well...but lets be honest, kovalev would be a "slow learner" if his career was projected onto the 90s. To put not to fine a point on it, kovalev hadn't fought for a title till he was 30 or thereabouts. McG had been finished and in a wheelchair for 2 years by the age of 30 (although obviously that's not a fair comparison). McLellans age of fighters were way higher acheivers. You just need to look at the way McGeneral won and immediately lost interest in the completely worthless WBO title that he won, moving on to higher pastures immediately. Suprising point is, Kovalev is a much cleaner, nicer person than the horrible guy who was McG.
it isn't when compared age for age, not at all, McGs is way ahead. He had won 2 titles and moved into another division 2 years before Sergey got a title shot, and has much more devasting KO resume up to the point he suffered his illness.
Kovalev has already killed a guy in the ring. Not only that, but after that happened he's still being completely savage in there. The way he eviscerated Mohammedi after the initial knockdown is crazy. The guy didn't stand a chance. Kovalev with his size and mindset is a danger to anybody who steps in the ring with him.
Beterbiev is a muslim tchetchen. Kovalev offering a fight in Moscow for Beterbiev is like if Satan was offering you to fight him, on his home turff, in hell. I clearly heard a member of the Yvon Michel clan (if not Yvon Michel himself) say that it was the reason why they didn't take it. Beterbiev was not at ease with the political surrounding of what that fight meant. He thought it was not necessary at that point.
