    I agree. I was surprised how bad he was/is. In his interviews talking about himself he seemed pretty intelligent.
    Maybe he smokes right before he goes on the air. Or maybe he doesn't smoke before he goes on.

    Dempsey and Louis never got respect when they walked into a room. That’s just another old fable nostalgists keep pushing to make their fanboy idols seem better than they were. I’ve talked to guys who been in the same room with Joshua and apparently he commands respect. His 6’6 250lb towers over everything else. Dempsey and Louis were basically average height even in their day. They knew nothing about boxing, except of course the lucky homerun punch. But then again anyone could do that against the fighters back then who didn’t even know how to generate force with their fist and touch another human being with it.

    His personality never matched his ability , which partly explains why his legacy and public appeal lags a little behind his achievements. Some fighters are the other way round.

    Never commanded the respect as some other fighters during or post career. A great fighter but a bit of a prat. The first image that comes to mind when I think of him is his protective cup pulled up to his neck.

    Some very great, elites of the past were not gifted with "great personalities", and that, as fat as I'm concerned, means nothing.
