If you're going to critisize Lewis for Ruiz and Byrd you have to do the same thing for Dempsey. As far as the rest of your post, its a joke. You cannot change the FACTS that Lewis beat more top rated fighters than your heroes, no matter how you try to down play them.

please do continue with your flawed quotes which are not factual but imaginary on your part.

Actually EVERY one of them outside of the "hardest punchers" is factual. That one cannot be proven.

Lewis was "Stripped of his belts" for refusing to fight Ruiz and Byrd.. Lewis chose to fight the murderous Frans Botha instead of Ruiz  and World beater Kirk Johnson instead of Chris Byrd... Those Top rated contenders you claim he fought was all exposed has beens who was on the downslide of their career's. maybe you could enlighten me and name which ones was at the Top of their Game?.... by that i mean like Gene Tunney was when Dempsey fought him

Lennox has a stellar list of accomplishments and a great resume. Nice, well rounded skillset with a couple of excellent weapons.

I think he ranks with his peers Evander and Mike, and a tier below, say, Holmes. Definitely a top 10 heavyweight, but not quite a top 5, to my mind. There is a derth of great, prime opposition that Ali and Louis had, and Holmes I think beat the better fighters in his own long reign. Lewis and Holyfield have similar resumes; Evanders is a bit better, in my opinion, but Lewis beat him twice, so its a near wash to me. I think both men are better than Mike Tyson by a small chunk, mainly longevity.

On Wlad, as he's been mentioned a bunch in this thread:

I think Wladimir is a good enough fighter to overtake Lewis, but he has work to do, even beyond beating Haye. His reign is gonna be about consistency and time as champion, in my opinion.

I'm in the decisive minority in believing Wladimir better than his brother in most senses, though. Guys an absolute stud. Another 7 or 8 wins over top ten heavyweights without another big knockout loss, and he has to rate.

Johnson was a WBC mandatory if Im not mistaken. But this is were your double standards come into play. You give a pass to a fighter who really only took on 4 worthy contenders and another to a guy who fought a dying man and a sparring partner as defenses. Gtfo of here with that crap! Simple question....how many champions fought more top 10 fighters than Lewis? Sorry son, but you can't wiggle out of the facts.

Anybody want to bet quarry doesn't answer the question in bold?

It can't be objectively measured, however, if you're willing to put forward a champion other than Ali who beat more hard hitters than Lewis, then go ahead.

I actually made an extensive thread about it a few years ago, which unfortunately I can't find anymore. I did find this one, which should be a good read on topic of the current thread:

Top 10 fighter is completely different to No1 contender.. was Frans Botha a top 10 fighter was Lionel Butler a Top 10 fighter... also you are using the corrupt WBC as your ranking system when you yourself on many occasions claim them to be a "Bunch of crooks" and that The Ring Magazine ratings are what you always go by, so again i ask you "WHICH FIGHTERS LENNOX FOUGHT WHO WAS AT THE TOP OF THEIR GAME?....anyone want to bet JAB avoids this question again

I knew you wouldn't answer my question.

To answer yours.....Vitaly, Grant, Golota, Briggs, Akinwande, Mason.

You want to get into The Ring top 10 ratings? Rahman 2x, Vitaly, Grant, Holyfield 2x, Tua, Briggs, Golota, Akinwande, Mercer, Tucker and Ruddock. Thats just The Ring and doesn't include the ABC boys.

So not only dodn't you answer my question, but you've been shown up and lost any bet you may have been willing to take. To bad, so sad. :-(

Many of the heavyweights beat a lot of hard hitters, that's the nature of heavyweight boxing.
Lewis may be different only in the fact that his resume LACKS the fast, slick, cagey, skillful and smaller men ...... I don't know.

If you want HW champions who fought as many or more of your "heavyweight hard hitters" try Joe Louis and Larry Holmes, obviously.
