His chin was too shaky to be the best ever, no amount of power could make up for that.

    Muhammad Ali
    Joe Lous
    Jack Dempsey
    Prime Mike Tyson
    Rocky Marciano

These are usually the people who tend to be argued in the best ever

    "Rocky Marciano"
If people list him as the best I just turn around and close the thread

Same goes for Dempsey, unless they add 2 letters and a number :p4p

Tyson his style was counterable, I forgot which fighter but he was an inferior Ali, he lost to Tyson but showed Tyson his style wasn't invincible, also any version of Tyson would have trouble with the Douglas that Tyson fought.Lewis especially the older had numerous different styles.

Joe Louis always came back stronger in a rematch.

Ali, for me he is too overrated.

Lennox Lewis would have murdered those, except Ali. Ali's the best boxer.

Top 10 heavyweight of all time; yes.

Head to head I would take both a prime Holyfield and a prime Tyson over a prime Lewis and they are the two best names on his resume, despite Tyson being a shadow of what he was even after jail and having the stamina over a 90 year old.

one of the best ever. had his lows, especially losing to rahman but that was due to arrogance rather than ability.

    Lennox Quality Wins
    Ruddock/Tucker/Bruno/Morrison/Mercer/McCall II/
    Akinwande/Golota/Briggs/Mavrovic/Holyfield/Holyfield II/
    Grant/Botha/Tua/Rahman II/Tyson/V. Klitschko
    Lennox Losses
    McCall I/Rahman I

    Louis Quality Wins
    Carnera/Levinsky/Baer/Uzcudun/Sharkey/Pastor I/
    Braddock/Farr/Schmeling II/Lewis/Galento/Pastor II/
    Godoy I/Godoy II/Simon I/Baer I/Conn I/Baer II/
    Simon II/Conn II/Mauriello/Walcott II/Savold/Bivins
    Louis Losses
    Schmeling I/Walcott I/Charles/Marciano

    Clearly, Lennox is not #1.

Louis didnt lose to Jersey Joe.

Lewis losing to journeymen clubfighters eliminates him from discussion for top honours. Add to that that his best wins is against way past prime Tyson and it is excruciatingly obvious that this thread is so full of fail.

he had all the tools to be the best exept perhaps a tad more speed, and most importantly, concentration. He wasnt always on the ball.
